Itinerary - Gran Canaria Express: The Island of the Sun

We start our way: Welcome drinks and dinner to kick off our trip in the best possible way!

Rise and shine, WeRoaders! It’s our first morning on this incredible island, and we’re kicking things off with one of Gran Canaria’s true icons: the Maspalomas Dunes.

After fuelling up with a proper Spanish breakfast (yes, there’ll be plenty of coffee!), we hit the road and head straight to this surreal sea of golden sand. Whether we explore on foot or hop on a camel, it’ll feel like we’ve landed in the heart of the Sahara. With local Sahrawi guides leading the way, we’ll soak in the unique landscape of the island’s south and channel our inner desert adventurers.

The rest of the day is all about discovering the wilder side of Gran Canaria. Think hidden coves, sun-drenched beaches, and a laid-back lunch of tapas and sangria somewhere along the coast.

As the sun starts to dip, we’ll swap sand for sea and climb aboard a sailboat to catch our first island sunset—with a chilled glass of cava in hand, of course. Just the beginning of many unforgettable moments to come.

No time to waste—we're just getting started! After our second Canarian sunrise, it’s time to soak up the island’s best in another epic day. But this time, we’re swapping wheels for waves and heading out on a luxury catamaran.

We’ll sail along the stunning southwest coast of Gran Canaria, gliding past hidden coves and dramatic cliffs, with the kind of crystal-clear water that’ll have you saying: “First reaction—shock!” Pure paradise. Along the way, we’ll have the chance to jump on a private motorboat, dive into some top-notch snorkeling, or try out a few water sports if you’re up for an adrenaline fix.

Back on board, the vibe is all about relaxing in style—think unlimited drinks, sunshine, and a delicious lunch featuring local Canarian flavours. The perfect way to live the island life, one wave at a time.

And after returning from the boat trip, we will be more than recharged and ready to discover another beautiful bay in the south of Gran Canaria: Playa de Amadores, which will be the backdrop for one of the most beautiful sunsets that can be admired on this island at this time of year. Let's face it, every sunset will be so special that we will be able to admire it every day with a different angle.

We then start to warm up the pace with drinks and music, the island will now reveal its most sparkling side!

Today we head north to the island’s vibrant capital: Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

First stop: Playa de Las Canteras. This time, we’re discovering the island from underwater with an intro dive, guided by expert instructors. Whether it’s your first time or you’re already hooked, the northern seabed is a wonder worth sharing together.

In the afternoon, we’ll explore the heart of Las Palmas. From the cathedral to the House of Columbus, charming squares to lively markets, we’ll uncover stories, secrets, and even a few local legends. Keep your eyes open—there’s more to that tiny Canarian banana than meets the eye!

To wrap it all up, we’ll toast the day with a tasting of local wines before heading back south for one last evening in paradise.

We’ll ease into our final morning with a bit of calm - maybe a last stroll, one more swim, or just soaking up the view before heading to the airport, depending on flight times.

It’s been an unforgettable trip - fast-paced, yes, but that’s Gran Canaria: bold, vibrant, and impossible not to love. And something tells us we’ll all be back.
