Check-in at the hotel in Hanoi and welcome meeting. This first impression may be a bit shocking but we'll quickly get used to it. And what better way to start the adventure, than with food! We'll find a local place where we can delight our palates with some local delicacies and toast the beginning of this adventure!

Discovering Hanoi
A mix between antiquity and modernity

Get lost in the charm of the Old Quarter and let Hanoi’s rhythm lead the way. There’s no shortage of things to do — so let’s choose our own adventure and make the most of every moment!
One night on the train
To make sure we don’t miss out on a taste of real adventure, tonight we hop on an overnight train that will take us straight to Lao Cai while we sleep. But this isn’t just any train: think cozy wooden panels, a touch of local tradition blended with modern comforts, and everything we need for a smooth, peaceful ride. For one night, we’ll travel like true locals - without giving up our creature comforts - and wake up to a brand new landscape, ready for the next chapter of our journey.

A day of trekking in the northern mountains
Sapa: nature and typical villages
This morning, we wake up in Lao Cai - the final stop of our overnight train journey. A transfer is waiting to whisk us away to Sapa, nestled in the far north of Vietnam near the Chinese border. Over the years, this mountain town has become a beloved destination for trekkers and nature enthusiasts, and it’s easy to see why. Set at 1,650 meters above sea level at the base of the Hoang Lien Mountains — also known as the Tonkinese Alps — Sapa is a breathtaking blend of dramatic landscapes and peaceful rhythms.
We lace up our boots and hit the trails, trekking through lush rice terraces, rolling hills, and sleepy villages untouched by time. Along the way, we meet locals in nearby villages and get a glimpse of life in these remote corners. By late afternoon, we return to our ecolodge in Sapa, where a cozy night and a delicious Northern Vietnamese dinner await.

This bay is studded with around 2,000 islands rich in vegetation which make it truly magical. Around lunchtime we board a traditional junk, which will become our home for the rest of the day. We begin our splendid navigation in the bay by visiting the Sung Sot Cave (Cave of Surprises), we then climb the approximately 150 steps and enjoy the magnificent view of part of the bay from above. We arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, the ancient Saigon
The ancient capital
The ancient capital of South Vietnam, now known as Ho Chi Minh City , is the symbol of a more modern Vietnam , although old traditions mix well with this push towards the future. We are in the most populous city in all of Vietnam so the first impact will be that of being in a city in constant movement! We cannot miss the excursion to the Cu Chi Tunnels , the ancient tunnels used during the Vietnam War of the 1960s. Despite the years that have passed, the memory of the war is still very strong: this morning will be an opportunity for us to get to know yet another aspect of Vietnam. We will also have the opportunity to climb into the tunnels - definitely not suitable for those who suffer from claustrophobia, but have no fear: it's all optional and at personal discretion!
