Hello hello WeRoaders, it’s Sonia here! I’m an Italian-British architect from Bari, with an Apulian soul, based in Manchester, UK. Alongside my love for architecture, photography, and art, I’ve always had a passion for travelling — trying new food, learning languages, and discovering places off the beaten path, chasing adventures. I’m a people person, I love sharing, meeting new faces, learning from different cultures, and building friendships wherever I go. At 17, I lived in a small village in Kyushu, Japan, with my wonderful host family. Since then, I’ve volunteered in the Philippines and Indonesia, lived in Australia (where I fell in love with koalas and got my diving licence!), and made friends all around the world. Every experience has pushed me out of my comfort zone and taught me something new — the world truly feels like my playground. In the last few years, I’ve also started learning Arabic after travelling to Palestine, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE. It was love at first sight with Arabic culture, and speaking a bit of the language makes every encounter even more special, it allows me to connect with people and really embrace the culture fully.
