Bergen Express: Fjords, Mountains & Kayak Adventures

Itinerary
Come with us to Bergen – the stunning gateway to the Norwegian fjords! Colorful wooden houses, dramatic mountains and crystal-clear waters make this city feels like it was made for exploring. Rich in history and alive with culture, Bergen is where cozy traditions meet wild adventures.
We’ll stroll through the UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf, savour local treats (how about those picturesque cinnamon buns!) and soak up the vibrant energy of its streets and markets. And when it’s time to venture further, we’ll glide over fjords on a fjord cruise, paddle across calm waters in a kayak, ride a cable car to breath-taking peaks and hike in landscapes that will leave you in awe. In the evenings, we’ll slow down with good food, cozy saunas and sea-dips. And if you still have energy, why not enjoy a beautiful evening sunset on a hill!
Whether you’re chasing a little adventure, views from the mountaintops or getting to experience the beauty of Norway’s fjords, Bergen will capture your heart.

Welcome to Bergen!
1 night: Bergen
Check in and welcome meeting
Once we arrive and check in at the hotel, we’ll have the welcome meeting - this is the perfect opportunity to meet your fellow travellers and discuss the exciting itinerary ahead. After, we'll head out for a stroll around the old town and Bryggen and we will end the day at a local Norwegian restaurant.

Discovering the mountains of Bergen
1 night: Bergen
Bergen from Above
Our day begins with a ride on the Ulriken cable car, lifting us to the highest of Bergen’s seven mountains. From here, sweeping views of the fjords and the city unfold and you can choose your pace: savour a meal at Skyskraperen Restaurant, test your courage on Norway’s fastest zipline or simply enjoy coffee in the crisp mountain air. For those eager to stretch their legs, the plateau terrain offers excellent hiking opportunities, with the option to continue all the way to Fløyen on a spectacular 4–5 hour hike - so get your walking boots ready!
As the day winds down, it’s time to soothe tired muscles in true Norwegian fashion. Relax in a sauna overlooking the sea, take a dip in a heated pool or even brave a refreshing swim in the fjord!

Hardangerfjord cruise and Rosendal
1 night: Bergen
Fjords & Rosendal village Charm
Our day begins on a scenic fjord cruise into the spectacular Hardangerfjord, where rugged mountains, cascading waterfalls, and quaint fjordside villages create a classic Norwegian backdrop. From the comfort of the catamaran, you’ll enjoy uninterrupted views of this dramatic landscape as we sail towards Rosendal - a picturesque village where majestic peaks rise directly from the water.
With 3.5 hours to explore, you’ll find plenty of ways to enjoy this “Norway in miniature”. Hike to the Sjethaug viewpoint for sweeping panoramas, stroll to the thundering Hatteberg Waterfall, or visit Rosendal’s unique 17th-century Manor House with its Renaissance gardens. For a peak of local culture, stop by the Folgefonn Centre to learn about glaciers, fjords, and village life.
Back in Bergen, savour fresh seafood at the Fish Market or hike up Fløyen for a sunset view that paints the city in shades of gold and rose.

Kayaking the Øygarden Islets
1 night: Bergen
Coastal Adventure & Wildlife
Today is our Choose Your Adventure day, where the group decides how to experience Norway’s epic nature. If we’re feeling active, we can join a guided kayaking tour through the Øygarden islets, just 30 minutes from Bergen. It’s perfect for beginners thanks to stable double kayaks and an expert instructor, and the scenery is incredible—calm waters, dramatic coastlines, and chances to spot marine life and coastal birds. After paddling, we enjoy a simple local lunch.
Prefer mountains over water? We can instead head to Bondhus Glacier Lake and explore Folgefonna National Park, home to emerald lakes, glacier views, and easy hikes suitable for all levels.
Whatever the mood—kayaking, glacier lakes, or another local day trip—we choose together and make it an adventure that fits the group.
