Itinerary

This is Europe the smart way: fast trains, city-centre arrivals, and a route that connects some of the continent’s most iconic places without wasting time. From Paris to Berlin, this journey is all about moving easily between cultures, vibes, and experiences — one day you’re sipping coffee by the Seine, the next you’re trying Belgian beers, cruising Amsterdam’s canals, or diving into Berlin’s raw, creative energy.

We start in Paris, ticking off the must-sees but also finding the corners that make the city feel real. Then it’s on to Brussels and a fairytale day trip to Bruges or Ghent, before heading north to Amsterdam, where life happens on bikes and along the water. Finally, we jump on one last train to Berlin, a city that mixes history, nightlife, and alternative culture like nowhere else.

This trip is built for curious, social travellers who want to explore Europe without overthinking logistics. No buses, no long transfers — just smooth train rides, great cities, local experiences, and the freedom to shape your days. Pack light, bring good energy, and get ready for 10 days of cities, canals, culture, and seriously good moments.

First arrivals, first vibes in the City of Lights

Welcome to Paris — the kind of city that doesn’t need introductions. You’ll arrive independently and check into your hotel, dropping your bags and stepping straight into that Parisian mood: cafés on every corner, people strolling with zero rush, and that feeling that something good is about to start.

In the evening, we meet up with the group and your Travel Coordinator for a first welcome meeting: names, faces, and the plan for the days ahead. Then it’s time to ease into the trip, a short walk around the neighborhood to get your bearings, followed by a first drink together.

If you’re up for it, you can join an optional welcome dinner around the Canal de l’Ourcq / La Villette area, a more local, less touristy side of Paris, or go for a relaxed evening walk along the Seine to kick things off properly.

From Eiffel Tower moments to local corners

Today we dive straight into the Paris you’ve seen in movies — but with someone who actually knows it. With a local guide, we explore the city’s highlights, moving through areas like Île de la Cité, the Louvre surroundings, and the elegant boulevards that make Paris feel like Paris.

Then comes one of those bucket-list moments: the Eiffel Tower. Whether it’s your first time or your tenth, it still hits. You’ll have your included access/experience here, so no stress, no queues to figure out — just enjoy the view.

The rest of the day is yours to level up: you can head to Montmartre for a more bohemian vibe, cruise the Seine for a different perspective of the city, or combine everything into one full-on Paris experience.

Fast trains, new country, first Belgian beers

We leave Paris behind, but not slowly — today we jump on a high-speed train from Gare du Nord and in just over an hour we’re in Brussels. No airports, no long transfers: city centre to city centre, the way it should be.

Once we arrive, it’s time to get a first feel for the city. Brussels mixes grand architecture with a laid-back, slightly quirky vibe, and we’ll explore it together with a relaxed orientation walk.

Then comes the real Belgian welcome: beer. Whether you’re a casual drinker or a full enthusiast, this is part of the culture here. We include a first beer-focused experience to introduce you to the world of Belgian brews, and if you want to go deeper, there are some great upgrade options.

Bruges magic or Ghent cool vibes — you choose

Today we take a break from capitals and head into postcard territory. We jump on a train and reach either Bruges or Ghent — both stunning, but with very different vibes. Bruges is all canals, cobblestones and fairytale energy; Ghent is younger, more alternative, and a bit less polished.

We’ll explore together with an orientation walk, then you’ll have time to wander, get lost in small streets, grab something sweet, or just sit by the canals and take it all in.

If you want to make the experience even more “wow”, you can hop on a canal boat, join a local tasting, or dive deeper with a guided tour.

Canals, bikes and that laid-back Dutch vibe

Next stop: Amsterdam. Another smooth train ride and we’re in one of Europe’s most iconic cities. After check-in, we head out for a first walk through the canal belt — the kind of place where every corner looks like a postcard, but people are just living their everyday lives.

Amsterdam is made for exploring slowly: walking, biking, stopping for coffee, people-watching. Your Travel Coordinator will give you the lay of the land, then it’s up to you how you want to experience it.

In the evening, you can go for a canal sunset cruise (highly recommended), or join a group dinner in one of the city’s liveliest neighborhoods.

Canals, culture and a city that’s best explored slowly

Today we get to know Amsterdam a little better, starting with a guided visit that helps put the city into context — its canals, its neighborhoods, its history, and that unique laid-back energy that makes it feel so different from everywhere else. It’s the perfect way to go beyond the postcard version of the city and understand what makes Amsterdam tick, while still keeping the day light, flexible, and easy to enjoy.

The rest of the day is yours to shape however you like. You can keep it slow with coffee by the canals and a long wander through the prettiest streets, or dive into one of the city’s many optional experiences. Maybe that means exploring the area around the Anne Frank House, or maybe it’s hopping on a bike like a local.

One last train ride, then on to Germany’s coolest capital

Today is our longest travel day, but also one of the most satisfying — because this is exactly what this trip is about: moving across Europe the smart way. We leave Amsterdam behind and hop on a direct train to Berlin, watching the landscape shift as we move from canals and Dutch calm into the bold, layered energy of the German capital.

Once we arrive, the vibe changes immediately. Berlin feels bigger, rawer, more creative, a city where history and nightlife, grand boulevards and underground culture all somehow exist side by side.

After check-in, there’s time to settle in and start getting your first feel for the city. If you’re up for it, you can head straight out for an evening walk or a first Berlin beer, because this city doesn’t really do boring first impressions.

Big history, bold contrasts and alternative energy

Berlin is a city that tells stories everywhere you look. With a guided orientation walk, we explore the key places that define the city: East and West Berlin, the Wall, Brandenburg Gate, the Holocaust Memorial, and the Reichstag area. It’s the kind of day that helps you understand why Berlin feels so different from anywhere else in Europe — not just because of what happened here, but because of how the city has reinvented itself.

The rest of the day opens up. You can keep going with a more alternative side of Berlin, diving into street art, subculture and neighborhoods like Kreuzberg, or slow things down and just enjoy the city’s cafés, green spaces and laid-back chaos. And then there’s the evening, of course — because Berlin by day is one thing, but Berlin after dark is a whole other story.

Palaces, gardens and a slower side of Germany

Today we leave Berlin for a few hours and head to Potsdam, the elegant historic city just outside the capital, known for its grand palaces, landscaped gardens and relaxed atmosphere. It’s a different pace from Berlin, and that’s exactly the point. After days of big-city energy, Potsdam gives us a more scenic and refined side of the journey, with plenty of space to walk, explore and take it all in.

We’ll spend the day discovering the city together, with time to enjoy its historic center and soak up the atmosphere around its most iconic landmarks. If you want, you can also go deeper with optional palace entries or extra visits once there.

Later in the day, we return to Berlin for one last evening together — the perfect moment for a farewell dinner, a final drink, and all the classic “can’t believe it’s already over” trip energy.

One last breakfast, then it’s time to go

After breakfast, it’s time to check out and say goodbye to Berlin — and to the group that, ten days ago, was just a bunch of strangers meeting in Paris. Depending on your flight time, you might still have a few final hours for a last coffee, one more walk, or a bit of last-minute shopping before heading to the airport.

And that’s the trip: four countries, four major cities, canals, train stations, beer tastings, landmark moments, and a route that somehow made Europe feel both huge and incredibly easy to move through. You’ll leave with a full camera roll, probably too many inside jokes, and a much higher standard for future city trips. Berlin may be the end of the itinerary, but it’s very likely not the end of the stories.

FAQs – Frequently Asked Questions

About this trip

What are the meeting and departure details for this trip?

This trip starts in Paris. On the first day, we’ll meet at 18:00

Your Group Leader will add you to the WhatsApp group for your trip about 15 days before departure.
 It’s a great way to start getting to know your travel mates, receive more details about the first day’s meeting point, and ask any pre-departure questions you might have.

Arrival and departure are totally flexible: you can land in Paris at any time on Day 1, just make sure to be there for the welcome meeting (and aperitivo 😉) around 6:00 PM. On the last day, you’re free to leave whenever you prefer.

This trip ends in Berlin. The trip officially ends at 10:00 on the last day, so we recommend planning your return transfers accordingly. For example:

  • if you need to book a flight, consider the time needed to reach the airport and complete check-in procedures;
  • if you need to book a train or continue your journey independently, consider the time required to reach the station or your next destination.

 If you have any doubts, you can contact the coordinator assigned to your departure for advice.

Is there anything else I should be aware of regarding the physical effort of this trip?

This trip is all about city vibes and easy travel — think walking tours, train rides and exploring at a relaxed pace, nothing too intense.

What kind of luggage can I bring with me on this trip?

For this itinerary, you can choose the type of luggage you prefer – we always recommend a backpack, but you can also travel with a duffel bag, a holdall, or (it breaks our heart to say it) a cabin trolley case or a checked suitcase, as long as it’s moderate in size. Our Group Leader will suggest the ideal luggage before departure in the WhatsApp group!

What is the Money Pot and how does it work?

The question of all questions! Here’s some more information:

  • The Money Pot is a common fund collected in local currency from all travellers on the trip and managed by your Travel Coordinator;

  • It is used to streamline payments for extra activities, goods and services that the whole group decides to do. This guarantees flexibility in choosing activities and excursions at the destination in line with the mood of the group;

  • It is typically collected on the first day of the trip in local currency, although at times, the Travel Coordinator may ask for it to be paid before departure;

  • You’ll find the Money Pot amount on the website under the section ‘What’s included in the Money Pot’. To find this look for ‘What’s included’, scroll down to ‘Money Pot? Click here’ and you’ll find the details.
  • The amount varies depending on the destination chosen;

  • It is usually used for group expenses that all travellers decide to take part in, but sometimes if you opt out of an activity it might make more sense for it to come out of the Money Pot. In these cases the Coordinator will return the amount for this activity back to you at the end of the trip;

  • It is estimated based on the experience of other groups but can vary depending on what activities your group is keen for. As such, the Travel Coordinator may need to increase the amount during the trip;

  • If not all of the Money Pot is spent, the difference will be returned to all travellers at the end of the trip;

  • The Money Pot also covers the Travel Coordinator’s share of the activities included in the Money Pot, except for those activities that are free for the Travel Coordinator;

  • If you pay in advance for part of the Money Pot before the trip for certain non-refundable optional activities, unfortunately, the amount cannot be refunded if the trip is cancelled;

  • Activities paid through the Money Pot: they are carried out by third-party local suppliers and their conditions apply; WeRoad does not intervene in their management nor assumes any responsibility. For details on the money pot, see the General Terms and Conditions
Can I cancel my booking?

Yes, but the available options depend on the status of your trip and when you make the request.

If your trip is not yet confirmed
You can cancel your booking by emailing hello@weroad.com
free of charge, up to 31 days before departure.
Please note: if it’s your first unconfirmed booking, you will only be asked to provide a credit card, PayPal, or Revolut as a guarantee, but nothing will be charged. From the second unconfirmed booking onwards, a mandatory £/$0100 deposit will be required.

If your trip is confirmed
Fees are not refundable in cash. You are entitled to cancel up to 31 days before departure, but after this deadline, cancellation is no longer possible.

Flexible Cancellation
If you purchased the Flexible Cancellation option (available in the first step of the booking process), you can cancel your trip up to 8 days before departure and receive a 100% refund of the price, including the deposit and private room fee. The only non-refundable amount is the cost of the Flexible Cancellation option itself.

How to cancel your trip

  • Write to hello@weroad.com
  • indicating your booking code.
  • We will reply as soon as possible applying the cancellation conditions for your booking.

PLEASE NOTE: before cancelling, keep in mind that you can move your booking to another trip or a different dateFind out how!

What type of accommodation should I expect on your trips?

For our trips we usually use locally owned accommodation instead of big hotel chains. It’s our favourite way to really experience the local culture and, whenever we can, support the local economy. Typically, you’ll stay in hotels, apartments, guesthouses and hostels with the same standard maintained across all trips in the same destination.

The list of accommodation for your trip will be shared with you by your Travel Coordinator 2-5 days before departure, along with other useful details for your adventure!

What payment methods can I use?

We offer several payment methods to fit every need:

1. Credit or debit card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express);
2. Instalment payment with Klarna (you’ll pay for the trip in three equal amounts);
3. PayPal (for selected destinations);
4. Revolut Pay to pay even faster straight from your Revolut account.

Can I find out my travel groups' flights?

Yes! We might not know the flights for everyone else in the group, but there are ways to find out which flights your fellow WeRoaders will be taking.

1. All travellers can share their flight details after booking on their My WeRoad account so that other travellers on the same trip can see these details anonymously.

2. Alternatively you can join our Facebook group: Solo Travellers | WeRoad Community – (here is the extended link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/963298767843213 ) Look for a post about the trip you’re interested in or ask the group admin for help in getting in touch with your future travel companions!

3. If the Group Leader has already been assigned to the trip you’re keen for, you can easily find their Facebook post on the website.

How is a group made up in average?

Generally, our groups have an average of 11 people. Everyone on our trips speaks English, and travellers join us from across the UK, Europe and beyond. Our trips are open to travelers between 25 and 49 years old. The indicated age is meant to give you an idea of the type of group, but it's not a strict limit: it's possible to participate even with a few years more or less, as long as you can keep up with the pace and energy of the group you're traveling with.

Each group will be joined and led by one of our experienced Travel Coordinators, who’s there to ensure everything runs smoothly and the group feels well-supported.

If you’d like to know more about our typical WeRoad groups do reach out to us on WhatsApp on +44 7716573700.

Can I see who’s in the group before I book the trip?

Yes! If you're curious, you can take a sneak peek at the group before booking.
You’ll find the info in the ‘Group’ section for each trip on the departures page, showing how many WeRoaders have already booked.

Click the little arrow and you’ll even see their gender and ages – but hey, that’s exclusive info, so we’ll ask you to log in or sign up to see that!

If a location is mentioned, is it guaranteed that we’ll spend the night there?

For some trips, in the itinerary section, you’ll find the number of nights and the location (not the hotel) where you’ll be spending the night(s). The location shown is the one we usually go for on most trips, but in some cases, you might stay in a nearby town. This will depend on logistics or availability of accommodation.

The list of accommodation for your trip (and therefore also the exact locations) will be shared by your Travel Group Leader 2-5 days before departure, along with other useful information for your adventure!

Who is the Travel Group Leader and what is their role on the trip?

The WeRoad Travel Group Leader is an experienced and skilled traveller who will be the perfect companion for your trip. They will manage all the logistical aspects of the itinerary like transport, timings, accommodation, restaurant bookings and meeting points, so that you can enjoy the trip without this hassle. They’re there to support the group, ensure everything runs smoothly and will no doubt make the trip a lot of fun along the way too!

The Group Leader will set up a WhatsApp group approximately 2 weeks before departure. This will be the moment to ask any pre-departure questions and get to know the rest of the group! If the trip you are interested in already has a Travel Group Leader assigned, you can contact them before booking. Their details will be on the trip page, or you can search for their name here. After booking, you will find their contact details in your My WeRoad account, under ‘Bookings and Trips’ > ‘Your Upcoming Trips’ > ‘Trip Details’.

Will I be sharing a room?

Yes, on all our trips you will share a room with other WeRoaders in your group. By default this will be people of the same gender, unless you tick ‘I'm OK with a mixed gender room’ when you book. The bathroom will either be private or shared only with other travellers on the trip. The rooms might be twins, triples, quadruples or multi-share (up to 8 people in exceptional cases), depending on the destination and availability.

You will never share with people from outside of the WeRoad group, except in certain cases for local experiences, which are specifically mentioned in the itinerary or communicated before booking. These typically involve specific nights in unique accommodation like tents, homestays, or camping, offering a more adventurous travel experience in exchange for some comfort.

On some of our trips we can offer a private room for an additional cost. Just tick the ‘Private Room’ option at checkout to get this added. For some of our trips if you book as two travellers together you can add this private room free of charge. Look out for this option at checkout.

Please note that if you do book a private room with a friend/partner this could be either a double or a twin room so please email hello@weroad.com if you have a preference on this.

How can I be part of the WeRoad community?

When you set off on a WeRoad trip, you’re officially a WeRoader – and as we often say, 'once a WeRoader, always a WeRoader'. This means that once you’re part of the community, a little piece of WeRoad will always stay with you.

But you’re not just a WeRoader during your trips, far from it! The community is alive and active all year round: you can stay in touch by following and interacting on our social media channels, like the Facebook group or the Instagram profile. You can also come along to one of our many events that we run in different cities worldwide. Check out and sign up to our events by downloading the WeMeet app here
