Itinerary

Ready for a weekend full of fun, river time, and good vibes?

This trip is all about stepping away from the routine and getting straight into a more relaxed, social, outdoor setting. We’ll meet in San Antonio and head toward New Braunfels, in the heart of the Texas Hill Country, where the pace slows down and the whole vibe changes.

The core of the experience is tubing on the Guadalupe River, one of the most popular summer activities in Texas. We’ll float down the river on inner tubes, letting the current carry us while we enjoy the scenery and the laid-back atmosphere. It’s simple, fun, and very local, the kind of thing that really defines a Texas summer.

After the river, we move to Gruene, a historic district known for its country feel and easygoing nightlife. The evening unfolds between local spots, cold drinks, and places like Gruene Hall, where live music is just part of the atmosphere.

The next day follows the same rhythm, with time to explore the area, walk around, and take it easy before heading back to San Antonio.

River time and Gruene vibes

We’ll meet in San Antonio around noon, pick up the rental cars, and head straight toward New Braunfels.

When we get there, we’ll jump right into the main experience of the weekend: tubing on the Guadalupe River. We’ll float down the river on inner tubes, letting the current do the work while we relax and enjoy the scenery.

Once we’re off the water, we’ll check in and take a bit of time to reset before heading out again.

In the evening, we’ll move to Gruene, a historic district known for its country feel and live music. We’ll spend the night between local restaurants, cold drinks, and iconic spots like Gruene Hall, one of the most famous live music venues in Texas.

An empty street in a historic town features old-fashioned storefronts and a tall water tower under a clear blue sky.

Last hours in Hill Country

Today we’ll start the day at a slower pace, heading to Gruene to enjoy the atmosphere of this historic district. We’ll walk around, check out local shops, and take in the laid-back vibe of one of the most characteristic spots in the Texas Hill Country.

It’s the kind of place where you can just wander, grab a coffee, sit for a bit, and enjoy the setting without overplanning anything.

In the early afternoon, we’ll get back on the road toward San Antonio, wrapping up the weekend at an easy pace. If flights are later in the evening, we can also take some time to explore the city before heading to the airport.
