Itinerary

Ever dreamed of waking up to the sight of Mount Kilimanjaro, tracking red-dusted elephants through the savannah, and ending your days with your toes in the sand? This is your Kenya. Our 9-day adventure takes you from the vibrant heart of Nairobi to the raw, untamed beauty of Amboseli and Tsavo East National Parks. You’ll journey through epic landscapes where elephants roam free, lions stalk the plains, and the sky stretches endlessly above. Get ready for golden sunsets, game drives in open 4x4s, and panoramic views that make you feel like you’ve stepped into a nature documentary.

But Kenya’s not just about wildlife — it’s about rhythm and culture, too. After the bush, we head east to Malindi, where the Indian Ocean meets Swahili heritage. Here, your days are filled with marine park adventures, cultural excursions, and long, easy afternoons on the beach. This trip is crafted for curious, energetic travelers who want a balance of action and downtime — the best of Kenya’s wild heart and coastal soul. Pack your sense of wonder. Kenya’s waiting.

Amboseli National Park

Get ready for a long one because we'll travel approximately 5 hours to Amboseli National Park. The scenery along the way will show us the beautiful countryside and traditional Maasai homesteads. The long journey it'll be totally worth it when we arrive to panoramic views of Mount Kilimanjaro (on clear days) and a game drive awaiting us in the afternoon. What will we see? The park is particularly famous for its large herds of free-roaming elephants, often photographed with the snow-capped peak of Kilimanjaro as a backdrop. We may also spot lions, cheetahs, wildebeests, zebras, gazelles, buffalo, giraffes, and an impressive array of birdlife.

As the sunsets, we'll return to the accommodation to enjoy a hearty group dinner before passing out from all the day's excitement!

Tsavo East National Park

We kick off the day with breakfast before hitting the road toward Tsavo East National Park—one of Kenya’s largest and wildest reserves. The drive itself is a treat, with shifting landscapes from Amboseli’s open plains to the rugged, red-dusted terrain of Tsavo.
We arrive at our lodge just in time for lunch and a quick recharge before heading out on an afternoon game drive.
Entering the park, we dive straight into the action—Tsavo East is home to the famous “red elephants,” along with lions, leopards, zebras, and buffalo. We’ll follow the tracks along the Galana River, where hippos and crocodiles bask and birds thrive.

In the evening we head back to the lodge for a group dinner and a relaxing evening under the African sky.

Final safari adventure day

Rise and shine—it’s safari day! After an early breakfast, we head out with our picnic lunches for a full-day adventure in the wild heart of Tsavo East. This vast park is home to the famous red elephants, big cats, giraffes, buffalo, zebras, and countless bird species.

We’ll explore iconic spots like the Yatta Plateau (the world’s longest lava flow), the dramatic rapids of Lugard Falls, and Mudanda Rock, where animals gather to drink. The scenery is as unforgettable as the wildlife.

Our guide will share fascinating insights into the park’s ecosystem and help us spot animals throughout the day. We’ll pause for lunch at a scenic picnic site before continuing the adventure. As the afternoon cools, chances of seeing predators rise—so keep your eyes open!

We return in the evening for dinner, stories, and well-earned rest.

Smell the sea air!

This morning, we trade the savannah for the sea! After breakfast, we hit the road eastward, leaving the wilds of Tsavo behind as we journey toward the tropical coast of Malindi.

Along the way, watch the landscape transform—from dusty bushland to lush coastal lowlands dotted with palm trees, villages, and sisal plantations. It’s the perfect chance to soak in Kenya’s incredible geographic and cultural diversity.

By mid-afternoon, we arrive in the laid-back beach town of Malindi and check in to our seaside base. The rest of the day is all ours - we'll kick off our shoes, stroll along the white-sand beaches, or just chill with a cold drink and the sound of the ocean. I mean, we've earned it.

Seaside immersion

Today’s all about soaking up the best of coastal Kenya—above and below the water. We start with a trip to Malindi Marine National Park, where we can hop on a glass-bottom boat or dive in for some snorkeling to explore colorful reefs and tropical fish.

After our ocean adventure, we’ll head back to relax or grab lunch at a beachside café. In the afternoon, we dive into Malindi’s rich Swahili culture with a guided tour of historic landmarks like the Vasco da Gama Pillar and the Portuguese Chapel, plus a wander through vibrant local markets.

Want more? Optional add-ons include a Swahili cooking class, a beachside massage, or a dreamy sunset dhow cruise. Whether we’re exploring or just chilling, today strikes the perfect balance between adventure and downtime on the coast.

Malindi Beach

It’s time to slow down and soak it all in. For the next two days, we embrace the easygoing rhythm of Malindi. Whether we’re lounging on soft white sands, dipping into the warm Indian Ocean, or napping under palm trees with a coconut in hand, these are the days to truly unwind.

For those craving a bit more action, we can explore more of the town, try local Swahili dishes, or join in the lively beachfront vibes where music and laughter flow as freely as the sea breeze.

Feeling indulgent? A spa session, sunset strolls, or a fresh seafood feast are always a good idea. No fixed plans—just freedom to relax, recharge, and enjoy Kenya’s coast at our own pace.

Check-out

After one last breakfast by the sea, it’s time to say goodbye—not just to Malindi, but to an unforgettable adventure and the amazing group we’ve shared it with. We’ve crossed savannahs, chased sunsets, and dipped our toes in the Indian Ocean—now, with hearts full and cameras loaded, we begin our journey home. We check out and make our way to Mombasa Airport, carrying not just souvenirs, but stories, new friendships, and the kind of memories that stay with us long after the trip ends. Until the next adventure—kwaheri Kenya.
