Itinerary
A trip to Sri Lanka is an experience that combines wonder, adventure, and relaxation . From the ancient Sinhalese capital of Polonnaruwa , where the ruins and Buddha statues tell millennia-old stories, to safaris in Minneriya National Park among majestic free-roaming elephants , every day brings new emotions. Climbing Sigiriya Rock takes us among frescoes and hanging gardens, while the rock temples of Dambulla and the sacred Temple of the Tooth in Kandy immerse us in the spirituality of this country. The cool central hills welcome us with fragrant tea plantations and the legendary panoramic train to Ella , a journey straight out of a movie, past waterfalls and suspension bridges. Here, nature reveals itself in all its splendor with the Nine Arch Bridge and Little Adam's Peak , before giving way to the sea of the southern coast. Golden beaches, unforgettable sunsets, and the slow rhythm of the ocean accompany us towards the end of this journey, which leaves us with eyes full of beauty, indelible memories, and new friendships to take home.

It's an early start today! We set off for Polonnaruwa , one of the ancient capitals of the Sinhalese kingdom. We stroll among majestic ruins, giant Buddha statues, and thousand-year-old stupas. After lunch, a breathtaking experience awaits us: a safari in Minneriya National Park or the Eco Park , depending on the season. We can spot elephants, peacocks, buffalo, and, if we're lucky, maybe even a leopard!

Lion's Rock
1 night: Kandy
The eighth wonder of the world
The day begins with an epic challenge: climbing the legendary Sigiriya Rock , also known as "Lion Rock." Climbing its 1,200 steps , amid frescoes and hanging gardens, we feel like kings and queens of old. After admiring the view, we visit the mystical cave temples of Dambulla , carved directly into the rock and filled with paintings and golden statues. In the afternoon, we stop in a spice garden , where we learn the secrets of Ayurvedic medicine amid the scents of cinnamon, vanilla, and curry. We end the day with the arrival in Kandy, where, if there's time, we have the option to enjoy to traditional dance show! Kandy is also where we'll find the Sacred Temple of the Tooth Relic , one of the most revered sites in the country, awaits us.

From Nuwara Eliya to Ella by train
1 night: Ella
Panoramic train journey to Ella
Our journey continues toward the cool central hills. We visit a tea plantation and factory, where we discover how the famous Ceylon tea is made, from picking the leaves to the final tasting. Then we board the legendary panoramic train to Ella . Sitting by the open windows, we pass bridges, waterfalls, and lush green landscapes: it feels like we're in a movie.

Ella: nature and then... the sea!

Discovering Ella
Today we explore Ella , a corner of paradise nestled between mountains and plantations. We can climb Little Adam's Peak for a breathtaking view, or reach the famous Nine Arch Bridge, where we can wait for the train to pass through forests and hills. After lunch, we leave the mountains and head towards the south coast. A change of scenery, a change of pace: the sea awaits us !
