Itinerary

There are places that leave a lasting impression the very first time you visit them. Stockholm is certainly one of them, with its striking contrast between the modern and historic parts of the city, where contemporary life meets the charming streets of Gamla Stan, home to Sweden’s most Instagram-worthy square. Our first day will be entirely dedicated to discovering the city’s highlights with a comprehensive city tour.

But we won’t stop at exploring the capital. On the second day, we’ll head out for a day trip to one of the most beautiful islands in the Stockholm archipelago. We’ll take a ferry to Grinda Island, and once there, enjoy a scenic walk around the island, admiring its iconic red Swedish cottages and unspoiled natural landscapes. Lunch will be enjoyed at a seaside restaurant, where you can savor fresh seafood or other traditional Swedish specialties. The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax and enjoy the island at your own pace—perhaps a kayak excursion, or maybe a refreshing swim followed by a traditional sauna. We’ll decide together! On Saturday evening, we’ll return to the capital, the perfect time to experience Stockholm’s vibrant nightlife.

On Sunday morning, we’ll visit a museum of your choice: the famous Vasa Museum, Skansen open-air museum and zoo, or the ABBA Museum.

Let's explore the city!

Let’s start our weekend with a lovely stroll through the center of Stockholm. We’ll wander through the narrow cobblestone streets of Gamla Stan and stop for photos in Stortorget Square, famous for its colorful buildings. They say it’s the most Instagrammed spot in Sweden!

After this journey into the past, we’ll leave the historic center behind and head toward the more modern side of the city. Along the way, we’ll admire the Royal Palace, the venue where the Nobel Prize banquet is held, and the beautiful Kungsträdgården (the King’s Garden), one of Stockholm’s most beloved green spaces.

By the end of our tour, we’ll already be feeling at home in this wonderful city. Then it will be time to choose the perfect spot for our first Swedish aperitif, followed by a delicious local dinner to round off the day.

Heading to Grinda Island!

Today we're heading out on a day trip!

We’ll catch the first ferry to Grinda Island, one of the most beautiful islands in the Stockholm Archipelago. Grinda is renowned for its unspoiled nature and its charming seaside restaurant overlooking the Baltic Sea.

Put on your comfortable walking shoes as we set off along trails that wind through lush forests and rocky coastlines, with slightly more rugged terrain on the island’s northern side. After about three hours of hiking, we’ll have explored the island’s highlights and enjoyed everything this beautiful corner of the archipelago has to offer. Then it will be time for a well-deserved lunch by the sea.

The afternoon is all about relaxation, with plenty of activities available for those who want more than just sunbathing on the beach or relaxing on the rocks. Kayak, stand-up paddleboarding, or sauna? The choice is yours!

Museum or zoo

This morning, we have a difficult choice to make!

Would you like to visit one of Stockholm’s most famous museums—either the world-renowned Vasa Museum or the iconic ABBA The Museum? Or would you prefer to spend the morning exploring Skansen, the world’s oldest open-air museum and zoo, where Swedish history, culture, and wildlife come together in a beautiful setting?

For those looking for a bit more excitement, there’s also Gröna Lund, Stockholm’s historic amusement park, beautifully located on the island of Djurgården and offering spectacular waterfront views alongside its rides and attractions.

As you can see, there’s no shortage of options—Stockholm truly offers something for everyone! The hardest part may be deciding what to do first.
