Itinerary
Bali is that island you imagine a thousand times... and yet, it still manages to surprise you. On this backpacking trip, we’ll cross some of the most beautiful and authentic corners of the island, moving from the ocean vibes of Seminyak to the green mountains of Bedugul, all the way to the volcanic landscapes of Kintamani and the spiritual atmosphere of Ubud. It’ll be the perfect mix of adventure, nature, shared moments, and that lightness that only Bali can offer.
We’ll kick off the trip from the inside: crossing increasingly green panoramas, we’ll reach Bedugul, in the heart of the Balinese mountains. Here, the pace slows down: mist-covered lakes, water temples, and fresh air will accompany us in a Bali that’s completely different from the postcard version.
The journey continues towards Kintamani, one of the most stunning areas of the island, where we’ll sleep immersed in nature with a view of the volcanic landscapes of Batur. In the evening, a bonfire under the stars awaits us, while the next day we’ll set off before dawn for the trek up Mount Batur, one of the most iconic moments of the trip: seeing the sun rise over the volcanoes and the clouds will be one of those images that stays with you forever.
After the adventure, we’ll relax in Ubud, the spiritual and artistic heart of Bali, among rice paddies, cafes hidden in the jungle, local markets, yoga vibes, and temples nestled in the greenery. And precisely because you never want to leave Ubud, we’ll treat ourselves to one last extra day without rushing: a free day to explore, relax, go shopping, or book a Balinese massage.
When you think you’ve soaked up the essence of Bali, it’s time to head to paradise. We’ll hop on a fast boat to Gili Trawangan: white beaches, turquoise sea, zero traffic, and life slowing down to the rhythm of the waves is what awaits us for two full days.
The trip ends where it began: in Seminyak, amidst endless sunsets over the ocean, beach bars, streets full of charming local spots, and the scent of incense mixing with the tropical air.

Welcome to Bali
1 night: Seminyak
Arrival in Seminyak and soaking up those first tropical vibes.
We land in Bali, the Island of the Gods, ready to dive into a week of ocean, volcanoes, jungles, and endless sunsets. After check-in in Seminyak, one of the island's most vibrant and international districts, we’ll immediately soak up that Balinese vibe: scooters zipping through the streets, ocean-view beach clubs, live music, and the scent of street food everywhere. Today there are no strict plans: we can chill on the beach, take a stroll along the promenade, or toast to the first sunset of the trip with a cocktail in the sand. It’s the perfect time to get to know the group, get into that backpacker mood, and let Bali’s unique energy take over.
Heading to Bedugul, passing by Lake Bratan.
1 night: Bedugul
Temples, lakes, and mountains
Our road trip is already underway! We're leaving the coast behind to head into Bali's hinterland, winding through scenic roads and tropical forests—the landscapes here are a totally different vibe from the last few days. On our way, we’ll stop at the famous Ulun Danu Beratan temple, one of the island's most iconic spots, perched right on Lake Bratan. It’s straight out of a postcard, with the temple seemingly floating on the water, framed by mountains. After snapping those mandatory photos, we’ll continue towards Bedugul, a cool, lush area known for its chill atmosphere. The pace slows right down here: fresh air, silence, nature, and breathtaking views are all we need for the rest of the day.
Bali, the slow way
1 night: Bedugul
Relax in nature, wander through villages, and breathe in that fresh air.
Today, we’re slowing down the pace to soak in the most authentic side of Bali. Bedugul is worlds away from the coastal chaos, offering a totally different vibe—think villages tucked into lush greenery, tropical forests, and landscapes that look like they’ve been ripped straight from a postcard. We’ve got time to explore at our own pace, grab a bite at a local warung to taste some authentic Balinese specialties, and just soak it all in with the right mindset: that of a true explorer.
For those craving a bit more adventure, you can choose to trek through the rainforest with a canoe excursion or go for a fun buggy ride through the hills and plantations of Munduk.
No rigid schedule, no racing against the clock: today, we’re letting our instincts guide us as we breathe in the green, relaxed soul of Bali. Trust us, this is one of those places that’ll make you want to stay way longer than planned.
Kintamani and a night under the stars
1 night: Kintamani
Road trip among volcanoes and a glamping experience
We're off again towards Kintamani, one of Bali's most incredible areas, famous for its breathtaking volcanic views. Along the way, we'll pass through local villages, scenic roads, and endless green terraces until we reach the foot of Mount Batur. Here, we'll experience one of the trip's absolute highlights: a night of glamping, fully immersed in nature.
Fresh air, mountains, a roaring campfire, and a starry sky will set the scene for a super special evening. To make it even more magical, an outdoor BBQ dinner awaits us in the peace and quiet of nature: great food, the warmth of the fire, chatting under the stars, and that unique atmosphere that only Bali can offer.
It'll be the perfect moment to slow down, disconnect from the chaos, and enjoy an authentic night together, surrounded only by the silence of nature and the unique vibes of this place.
Sunrise on Mount Batur
1 night: Ubud
Volcano trekking and arrival in Ubud
The alarm goes off super early today, but trust us, it’s worth every lost minute of sleep. We head out before dawn to tackle the trek up Mount Batur, one of Bali’s most famous volcanoes. We’ll hike in the dark with our headlamps on, reaching the summit just in time to catch the sunrise over the volcanic caldera: it’s an incredible sight and definitely one of the most iconic moments of the trip.
After the descent, we can chill out or, if you’re up for it, hit the local hot springs. Later, we’ll make our way to Ubud, Bali’s spiritual and artistic heart, filled with temples, rice paddies, and jungle-hidden cafes.
Ubud state of mind
1 night: Ubud
Rice paddies, spirituality, and slow living
Today is entirely dedicated to Ubud—arguably the place that best captures Bali's authentic soul. We can wander through its narrow streets packed with temples, artisan markets, and hidden gems, explore the famous surrounding rice terraces, or visit the iconic Monkey Forest, a true Ubud must-see.
Feeling active? You’ve got options: join a Balinese cooking class or go rafting through the jungle and tropical rivers. If you’d rather take it easy, treat yourself to a Balinese massage, join a yoga class, or just kick back in a cafe surrounded by nature.
Ubud has a special vibe; time seems to slow down here, and every corner invites you to linger a little longer. It’s the perfect day to soak up those final moments on the island.
Gili Trawangan
1 night: Gili Trawangan
Off to the Gili Islands
We've reached the final stop of our trip, and it's absolute paradise! Time to say goodbye to the lush greenery of Ubud and head down to Padang Bai to catch a fast boat. Destination: Gili Trawangan, the chillest island in the Bali sea. No cars, no traffic—just white beaches and turquoise water. Once we arrive, we'll check in and start soaking up this slice of heaven that’ll be our home for the next two days. From here on out, we're strictly on island time—just going with the rhythm of the waves.
Chill out in the Gili Islands
2 nights: Gili Trawangan
Living that island life on Gili Trawangan
As promised, we’ve got two days all to ourselves in Gili Trawangan to live at our own pace. No schedule, no alarms: we decide how to spend them. We can explore the most beautiful beaches and just chill, dive into crystal-clear waters to swim with colorful fish, cycle around the island, or wait for the sunset with our feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand. This is the part of the trip where time slows down and the only thing on the agenda is… whatever we feel like doing. Exactly what we needed.
Return to Seminyak
1 night: Seminyak
Relaxation, beach vibes, and total freedom.
The first part of today is all about heading back to Seminyak, so we're retracing our steps: we'll take the fast boat to Padang Bai, and from there, a private minivan will whisk us off to our hotel in Seminyak. We should arrive in the afternoon—fingers crossed for no surprises!—and we might still have a few hours to chill on the beach, hunt down some super Instagrammable cafes, or get lost among the markets, local boutiques, and hidden beach bars. Anyone who wants to can even treat themselves to a Balinese massage before heading home.
Sunset in Seminyak is practically a collective ritual, and tonight we'll relive all the great moments we've shared together and try to figure out exactly why Bali manages to win over everyone who sets foot here.
