Itinerary

In just one weekend, we want to show you Budapest, Hungary's capital – a stunning and captivating city, also known as “the Paris of the East”. We'll marvel at incredible monuments, and wander streets adorned with colourful lights reflecting on the waters of the river Danube. Thanks to local guides, we'll discover that Buda is the more historic centre, characterised by ancient palaces, castles, churches, monuments, and the famous Royal Castle, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Pest, on the other hand, is the more modern and lively part, home to key attractions like the Parliament and the Jewish Quarter with its hip ruin bars/hostels, a prime spot for weekend parties. Of course, we can’t miss a boat tour to see the city from the Danube! Between history, nightlife, and iconic experiences, this weekend is all about discovering Budapest from every angle — including a well-deserved soak in its famous thermal baths.

Check-in: our adventure kicks off in Budapest

Check-in at the hotel in Budapest where we will meet each other and have our welcome meeting before we have our first group dinner. The most fun part of a cultural experience is the food! On the menu is goulash, a typical Eastern European stew.

Later on in the night, we can experience Budapest's famous nightlife, with a pub crawl! Or we could hit the evening thermal baths and leave the party for the next day.

A long row of golden-brown fried pastries stands on a metal rack at a busy outdoor market stall.
An ornate parliament building with a red central dome and spires sits on a riverbank, reflected in the water.

Buda and Pest

Today we set out to discover the city! We'll have a guide show to us around, uncover the secrets of the city's two sides: Pest, the modern side, and Buda, the historical side. We'll be amazed by the architectural differences between these two parts!

From the iconic Parliament to the Fisherman’s Bastion, choosing a favourite won’t be easy.

Danube River Cruise

It’s time to hop on a boat to immerse ourselves in the wonder of this city from its river, Danube, whilst we sip our drinks.

After this, we’ll get ready for the evening: the ruin pubs await and we can’t wait to discover them!

Check-out

This morning it’ll be tough to get up early, but we’re giving it a go anyway! We’ve got some last-minute moments in the city to enjoy. In between souvenir shopping, we’ll pop into one of the local markets, while trying a specialty we absolutely can’t miss: Langos! Fried dough, traditionally served with sour cream and cheese is the staple here but there are loads of other versions too.

And finally, it’s time for goodbyes: see you on the next WeRoad adventure!
