Prepare to be captivated as we explore the city's rich history at the Egyptian Museum, roam through ancient Memphis, enjoy a tranquil Nile River felucca cruise, immerse ourselves in the vibrant Islamic neighbourhood with its captivating mosques and bustling bazaars, and stand in awe before the Great Pyramid of Giza – the last remaining wonder of the ancient world.

A nighttime view of three large pyramids illuminated with golden lights, rising above a darkened city skyline.

Round trip flights are not included in the package, so you can choose from where and when you want to fly. This is to give you maximum freedom of choice!

We'll check into our hotel and we gather for welcome meeting— click here to see how it works!

To kickstart our journey, we'll take a leisurely stroll through the city's historic streets, immersing ourselves in its rich past. This will also serve as an excellent opportunity for us to bond and enjoy some local delights, such as sipping on refreshing mint tea and sampling the regional cuisine. It's the ideal way to begin our adventure on a delightful note!

The ancient world & Grand Egyptian Museum

Today, the highlight of our journey awaits as we set our sights on the oldest of the seven wonders of the ancient world, the Great Pyramid of Giza, also known as the Cheops pyramid. But that's not all – in the Giza necropolis, we'll also encounter the pyramids of Chefren and Menkaure, not to mention the enigmatic Sphinx. It's an incredible opportunity to witness these colossal monuments, which have endured the test of time. We'll also have the opportunity to visit the fascinating Grand Egyptian Museum that displays the a huge array of archaeological treasures, including Tutankhamun's tomb!

After a first taste of Egyptian history, it’s time to step things up: one of those truly unforgettable experiences is waiting for us: a dinner on board a river cruise.

A large step pyramid stands among ancient stone ruins in a desert landscape under a partly cloudy blue sky.

Memphis: the Capital of Ancient Egypt

This morning we'll explore an unexpected treasure – not the well-known pyramids, but rather the historic gems of Memphis, Ancient Egypt's inaugural capital, and the nearby Saqqara necropolis. Just under five years ago, an astonishingly well-preserved new tomb, likely belonging to a 4,400-year-old Egyptian official, was unearthed here.

Amid the aura of mystery, we'll encounter Djoser's pyramid, the country's oldest, where a total of 17 pharaohs found their resting place. If time permits, we'll venture to the Dashur necropolis, home to the unique bent pyramid that opened to the public in 2019.

Nile river cruising

After this morning's history it's time to unwind and take a leisurely stroll through the city centre. Alternatively, we can opt for a serene felucca ride on the Nile River. On this traditional boat, we'll have the chance to admire a breathtaking sunset over the city, reminiscing about all the epic moments of this day, which will undoubtedly leave a lasting imprint in our memories.

A crowd of people walks through a narrow, sunlit market alley filled with stalls selling clothes and goods under a striped awning.

The Medieval City

Today marks our final day in Cairo, and while the bittersweet feeling of journey's end lingers, we're undaunted! A full day awaits us to uncover the unique treasures of the city's Islamic quarter.

Our exploration commences at the majestic Citadel of Saladin, a historical bastion where the Alabaster and Sultan Hasan mosques grace the landscape. Originally constructed as a defence against Crusaders, its elevated position provides unparalleled panoramic views.

Next on our itinerary is Khan el Khalili, the city's bustling souk, an essential stop for souvenir hunters. Here, you can stock up on everything from replica ancient Egyptian artifacts to lamps, vases, and papyrus scrolls.

After a thorough exploration of this incredible city, it's time to bid adieu, perhaps over a delicious meal at a traditional restaurant. Here, we'll raise a toast to this unforgettable adventure and all the exciting journeys yet to come!
