If the answer is no... well, now is the time! We leave to head towards Bryson and then tackle the rapids of the Ottawa River ; and it doesn't end there because in addition to rafting we also included lunch and, since we were there, also a barbeque dinner... not bad, eh? So let's get pumped up and have fun today!

A day to explore!

This morning, we still have time to explore Ottawa, and there’s certainly no shortage of places to visit in Canada’s capital. A must-see is Parliament Hill, home to the Peace Tower and the Centre Block. The city also features several museums for those interested in learning more about Canada’s history and origins, as well as beautiful views, like those along the Rideau Canal.

We grab a quick lunch and by midday we’re on the move again, heading toward our next destination: Quebec City. Just a heads-up—make sure to wear comfortable shoes!

Quebec City is split into a higher and lower part connected by a funicular for those who prefer a relaxed option, or by a steep staircase known as "Casse-Cou," which literally means "breakneck stairs." We’re not planning to test the name’s accuracy, but either way—get ready for a climb!

If we’re in more of an adventurous mood, we can instead explore Jacques Cartier National Park. Located in the Quebec region, the park offers a variety of outdoor activities. Hiking is the most popular, but canoeing, kayaking, and rafting are also great options to consider.

Québec City and Jacques Cartier National Park

Good morning, WeRoaders! A slow start to the morning... or not, depending on how we choose to spend this free morning in the city! In a place as vast and activity-filled as this, free time is always too precious to waste.

After lunch, we head out of the city for an adventure, trading urban life for nature. We enter the lush surroundings of Jacques Cartier National Park, a glacial valley in Quebec home to the river and lake of the same name, all framed by the majestic Jacques Cartier mountain massif. With its diverse landscapes, the park offers a range of outdoor activities—trekking is the most popular, but canoeing, kayaking, and rafting are great alternatives. Ultimately, it’s up to us and when our adventurous spirit kicks in!

Tonight, we return to Québec City, and depending on how tired we are, we’ll decide whether to head out and enjoy the city's vibrant nightlife, or head straight to bed.

Sweet Canadian traditions

Wake up, WeRoaders, it’s time to go! After a final stroll through Québec City this morning, we say goodbye and head to Montreal, about 3.5 hours away.

But first, a must-visit lunch stop. What comes to mind when we say Canada? Niagara Falls? Yes, but that’s predictable! The cold? Sure, but it’s more of a state of mind. Here’s a clue… something sweet! Today, we’re treating ourselves to authentic maple syrup at the classic Sucre Chez Dani sugar shack! We’ll learn how maple syrup is made, then enjoy a typical lunch, of course, all drenched in syrup.

After lunch, we head to Montreal. Once we drop off our bags, we explore this city, a unique blend of a big U.S. metropolis and a traditional Quebecois town. The most captivating part of the city is Old Montreal, home to the stunning Notre Dame Basilica and the charming Old Port.

The heart of Old Montreal is Place Jacques-Cartier, a pedestrian square named after the French explorer tasked with finding new resources for France. We have limited time but plenty to see, so it’s time to hit the ground running!

Let's go back to Toronto

Today marks our return to Toronto, and we're in for a breathtaking encounter with one of the world's most iconic natural wonders – the Niagara Falls complex. Straddling the border of the United States and Canada, this majestic ensemble consists of three distinct waterfalls: Horseshoe Falls, American Falls, and Bridal Veil Falls.

To provide a glimpse: Horseshoe Falls, the largest, boasts a horseshoe-shaped crest stretching approximately 792 meters and descending 57 meters into the Niagara River. American Falls spans around 323 meters in width, with a drop of about 54 meters, while Bridal Veil Falls, the smallest, is situated next to the American Falls. To enhance our view, we won't miss a ferry ride – get ready for a refreshing experience!

Following this whirlwind of emotions and water, we'll gather for our last dinner together. While the journey is concluding, our minds are already wandering to the next adventure. Here's to us and the journeys yet to come. Cheers!
