Itinerary
This Copenhagen weekend packs three days into the Danish capital, moving between historic neighborhoods, picturesque canals, elegant squares and one very famous amusement park. We arrive in the early afternoon on day one, tour Rosenborg Castle, stop by the canals for a Danish snack and sit down to a traditional Danish dinner. Day two is a Walking Tour with a local guide, from the Little Mermaid through Nyhavn and Stroget, then a long afternoon inside Tivoli Gardens.
On the last morning we swap the cobbled streets for a canal boat tour of the old harbor. It is a weekend weighted towards culture, food and unhurried wandering, with water and gardens instead of wilderness. The city shifts with the seasons: flowers and outdoor cafes in spring and summer, twinkling lights, gløgg and Christmas markets in winter.

Copenhagen: Rosenborg Castle and the canals
Our adventure kicks off in Copenhagen!
We land in the early afternoon and meet our travel companions at the hotel by 3pm. Quick check-in, then straight out into the Danish capital.
Copenhagen: magic and fairytale vibes in the Danish capital
First stop is Rosenborg Castle, a Renaissance masterpiece surrounded by gardens. We take our time in rooms full of history and royal treasures, then head down towards the canals.
By the water we stop for a typical Danish snack: a coffee and a Kanelsnegl, the local cinnamon pastry, while colorful houses and passing boats do the entertaining.
Dinner is traditional Danish, Smørrebrød and Frikadeller, with Danish beer alongside. Beer carries real weight in Denmark, and Carlsberg and Tuborg are the two names that travelled furthest.

The Little Mermaid, Nyhavn and Tivoli Gardens
Walking Tour of Copenhagen
Today Copenhagen comes with a local guide. The morning goes on foot across the city, the whole afternoon behind one set of gates.
The Walking Tour starts at the Little Mermaid, Copenhagen's symbol, and then gets lost among the canals, where history blends into long rows of colorful wooden houses.
Our guide fills in the secrets of Nyhavn, all boats and cafes, before we join the flow of Stroget, Europe's longest shopping street, busy at any hour.
Tivoli Gardens: a magical world in the heart of the city
After a local lunch, the rest of the day belongs to Tivoli Gardens, open since 1843, the second oldest amusement park in the world and an icon for locals as much as visitors.
Inside there are rides, blooming gardens and picturesque lakes, framed by architecture that is half classic, half fairytale. The twists are fast, the views wide. Dinner is Danish New Nordic, in a restaurant overlooking the canals.

Boat tour on the canals, goodbye Copenhagen
Copenhagen by boat: a tour through canals and hidden secrets
Last morning, and instead of the pavement we take to the water. Seen from a boat, the city rearranges itself.
The boat tour winds through the picturesque canals and the old harbor, low on the water and slow enough to take in a side of Copenhagen the streets keep hidden.
Our expert captain points out the city's hidden gems and the most famous stories from every corner we pass, which is exactly the different point of view we came for.
Goodbye Copenhagen!
Then we scatter, each to our own destination, heading home with the memories and 15 more friends. See you soon, Copenhagen, and until the next WeRoad adventure.
