Indonesia 360°: Bali, Java and Lombok
Itinerary
A 12-day group adventure in Indonesia, island-hopping between Java, Bali, and Lombok. It’s pure, authentic exploration: wild nature, hidden temples, cheeky monkeys, and dreamy seas. That’s the short version, but keep reading—we’re pretty sure you’ll be booking this one immediately.
We land in Bali and head straight to Java, an island full of charm and contrast. Here, we’ll tick off one of the most spectacular experiences of the trip: sunrise at Mount Bromo, surrounded by lunar landscapes and smoking craters. The next day, we’ll hop in a 4x4 jeep to explore plantations and rural villages, getting to know the most authentic side of Java.
Next up is Ubud, the spiritual heart of Bali: endless green rice paddies, the famous Monkey Forest, and temples tucked away in the jungle. Then it’s time for Lombok, the wild, off-the-beaten-path island. We’re talking dreamy beaches in Senggigi, Sasak villages, and inland trekking. And of course, we’ll make time for the Gili Islands—snorkeling in turquoise waters and sunset drinks are non-negotiable.
We’ll wrap it all up at a beach club in Seminyak, with sunset cocktails and sand between our toes. This is one of those trips that makes you feel truly alive. Backpack on—let’s go!

Welcome to Indonesia!
Check-in: our trip kicks off in Bali!
Flights to and from the destination aren't included in the package, so you're free to choose your departure, timing, and preferred airline... We want to give you maximum freedom!
Check-in at the hotel in Bali (see how the meeting works here!) and then it's straight to dinner to get to know each other and gear up for this magical adventure together! The first dish you absolutely have to try? Obviously nasi goreng—a delicious mix of rice, veggies, and meat!
Malang: between history, colors, and authenticity!
All aboard the becak!
This morning it's already time to say goodbye to Bali (but we'll be back soon!) as we head off to Java. We land in Surabaya and make a beeline for Malang, the perfect mix of colonial charm and local culture. We'll hop on a becak (local rickshaw) to explore the city: from Boulevard Ijen, with its elegant Dutch villas and flower-lined streets, to the vibrant Chinese temple, a symbol of the harmony between Buddhism, Confucianism, and Taoism.
A must-see stop is Kampung Jodipan, the rainbow village born from a student project that turned it into an explosion of color—perfect for your photos! Then we're off to the Tugu Monument and the flower market, before immersing ourselves in the authentic atmosphere of Kampung Kayoetangan, where life moves at a slower pace among the shops and traditions. Our final stop is Toko Oen, a historic cafe with a colonial vibe, before heading to the hotel for a fresh shower—the evening is still young, obviously! It's only day two, we aren't tired yet, right?!
Exploring East Java, all the way to the slopes of Mount Bromo
On the road through Indonesian landscapes.
Did we manage to catch a few hours of sleep? Perfect, because the alarm is set for 2 AM, so no time to linger under the covers. Time to layer up (it’s freezing, so wrap up warm!) and hop into a jeep. In less than half an hour, we’ll be nearly at the top of the mountain to catch the sunrise over Mount Bromo – the absolute highlight of our trip!
We’ll arrive just before the sun peeks over the horizon. Watching Mount Bromo slowly light up as the sun’s rays hit it is, honestly, mind-blowing; it’s one of those moments that leaves you completely speechless. Let’s soak up this unique connection with nature. We’ll head back to base camp, still buzzing from that sunrise, and set off for our next stop: Kalibaru. Think lush plantations, rolling countryside, and fresh hill air – the quieter, more rural side of Java.
*Bring warm layers: temperatures on Bromo can drop below 10°C.
Jeep tour through the plantations and transfer to Banyuwangi
We're heading out in the morning by local jeep to explore the Kalibaru countryside: traditional villages, local crops, and the Margo Utomo plantation. Between dirt roads and lush green landscapes, we'll discover the local tropical produce, see how the land is worked, and chat with the farmers who live here—no tourist traps, just the real, daily life of this corner of Java. Closed-toe shoes, a hat, sunscreen, and a water bottle are our best friends today. Obviously, the crops we see will depend on the season—Mother Nature is in charge here.
After lunch, we'll head to Banyuwangi, our final stop before making our way back to Bali.
From Java to Bali: let's discover a new island!
Kawah Ijen: acid lake and blue flames
Early wake-up call again... but trust us, it’s worth it, because we’re heading up the Ijen volcano. This place is famous for two almost unique features: it’s home to the world’s largest acidic lake and the blue fire! Reaching the top of the volcano isn't too tough, but the second part of the trail gets decidedly more challenging. At this point, we’ll actually have to descend into the crater to reach the acidic lake and admire the blue fire—those blue flames caused by sulfur combustion reacting with the oxygen in the air. The descent requires caution, and the path is made trickier by the lake’s gases—we’ll be equipped with masks, but it’s still a serious trek, which is why the descent is optional. But if we decide to venture into the heart of the volcano, we’ll be rewarded: sunrise here hits differently!
Welcome to Bali!
Ubud: The Monkey Forest and an afternoon of yoga
Sacred Monkey: getting up close with Indonesian mythology
An afternoon of pure chill!
Let’s spend the rest of the day however we like. Ubud is one of the world capitals for yoga and spirituality, so where better to drop into a class or visit a temple to cleanse the soul, like Tirta Empul? If you’re more into the great outdoors, we can take a walk through the rice paddies: for anyone who still has energy to burn, the area around the city is packed with forests, temples, and waterfalls!
Among rice paddies, adventure, and Balinese tradition
Time for a cooking class!
Let’s keep exploring Ubud, the beating heart of Bali, where nature and culture collide for a truly unique experience. We’ll get lost among the spectacular Tegalalang rice terraces, exploring postcard-perfect landscapes on a quad bike—expect mud, hidden trails, and rural villages.
We can also check out the mystical Goa Gajah, the rock-carved temple known as the Elephant Cave, and dive headfirst into authentic Balinese tradition with a cooking class: between fragrant spices and local recipes, we’ll master typical dishes like nasi goreng and sate ayam.
Lombok: off to Senggigi!
Bye bye, Bali!
After these incredible days in Bali, it’s time to wave goodbye to the island... and head to the next one! After our hotel pick-up, we’ll head to Sanur port, ready to set sail for Lombok! In about 90 minutes, we’ll arrive in Bangsal, where the vibe shifts instantly: fewer crowds, more authenticity.
The rest of the day? That’s up to us! Plenty of free time, perfect for exploring local warungs or chilling on a postcard-worthy beach. Lombok is waiting for us!
Sea, beaches, and total relaxation in Lombok
Paradise on Earth
We wake up to the gentle sound of waves and a light sea breeze rustling through the palm trees. No rigid schedules, just pure relaxation: the sea in front of us is a perfect turquoise—an irresistible invitation for a swim. After a refreshing dip, we soak up the sun on loungers with an endless view, tropical cocktail in hand.
In the afternoon, we decide to explore the underwater world: mask, snorkel, and off we go, diving into a natural aquarium. The corals are a burst of color, and tropical fish swim around us like they’re in a perfect dance. If we're lucky, we might even spot a sea turtle watching us curiously before vanishing into the deep blue. The day ends just like that, with the sound of the sea and the realization that we're in a corner of the world where time seems to stand still.
Yoga, surfing, and massages – how does that sound?
Today, we're not thinking about a thing!
This morning, let’s kick things off with a yoga session: our mat is the soft sand, and the soundtrack is the waves gently crashing on the shore. Take a deep breath, stretch out, and let go of all that tension. Time slows down here, and every movement feels like a gift to yourself. Craving a bit more adrenaline? Grab a surfboard and try taming the waves—it’s totally up to you!
But the chill doesn’t stop there; it’s time for a well-deserved Balinese massage. Let the local experts work their magic while coconut-scented oils melt away every trace of fatigue. It’s the perfect way to reconnect with your body and embrace the slow, magical rhythm of this place. The sunset catches us off guard with those breathtaking colors again, and we’re already dreaming of the next adventure. Tomorrow? Here in Indonesia, we set our own pace.
Back in Bali: one last night under the stars
Beach clubs and unforgettable memories
Leaving Lombok is never easy. We’ve gotten used to the island’s slow pace, the sound of the ocean waking us up in the morning, and those fiery sunsets that look like they were painted. But today is the day we head back to Bali, the final stop on a trip we wish would never end.
We set sail in the morning, wind in our hair and our eyes fixed on the horizon. As the silhouette of Bali begins to take shape before us, a mix of emotions hits: nostalgia for the days behind us and the excitement of a night that promises to be unforgettable. The destination? Seminyak, to celebrate our last night in the best way possible.
The sun starts its slow descent and we’re ready to say goodbye to this holiday in style: by hitting one of the most iconic beach clubs on the island. Bali, thanks for every sunset, every wave, and every emotion. It’s not goodbye, just see you later!
Goodbye, Indonesia!
