Itinerary
A group trip to Nepal, from the temples of Kathmandu to the peaks of Annapurna: nine days of ancient traditions and untamed wilderness. From the chaotic, friendly capital we drive to Pokhara on Lake Phewa, with a rafting stop on the Trishuli, then trek three days at high altitude through the Himalayas to Ghandruk and Chhomrong, the last village before Annapurna Base Camp. Chitwan National Park swaps mountains for dense jungle and a jeep excursion among rhinos, Bengal tigers and crocodiles. Back in Kathmandu: the Thamel market, the Garden of Dreams, Hindu and Buddhist temples, exotic flavors and a kaleidoscope of colors against snow-capped mountains.

First impressions of chaotic, charming Kathmandu
Welcome dinner and a raksi toast
Roundtrip flights or transportation to reach the destination are not included in the package, so you can decide from where and when you want to leave! This gives you complete freedom of choice to adjust your travel itinerary to your needs.
The first impact with this large city may be a little traumatic: chaotic, untidy, a bit of dust and noise. But don't be daunted!
- Check-in at our hotel in Kathmandu, then out into the streets. We soon discover that the Nepalese are friendly and welcoming, enchanted by Tibetan bells at sunset.
- In the evening, a welcome dinner of Nepalese specialties. Let's toast with a glass of raksi, a local liqueur similar to grappa.

Rafting the Trishuli on the way to Pokhara
Six hours to Lake Phewa
After breakfast the real adventure on Nepalese soil begins: today the road takes over, 200 kilometers of landscape shifting from city to nature and back again.
- The long transfer to Pokhara, a traditional town reflected in the waters of Lake Phewa, takes about six hours, the scenery changing kilometer after kilometer.
- A break is needed, so we stop for some energizing river rafting: the road runs alongside the Trishuli, one of the best spots for it. Into the raft!
Sunset stroll in the Tibetan quarter
- The streets of the center are quiet and Lake Side, the main street, is invaded by shops selling climbing equipment. The peaceful Tibetan quarter is our favorite corner.
- Colorful low houses, a Buddhist temple, handicrafts made by the community's women. At sunset we browse the stalls along the lake, where the characteristic boats are moored, and dine.

Sunrise over Annapurna, then on foot to Ghandruk
Jeep to Birethanti at dawn
Early alarm, and nobody complains: the sun rising over the spectacular backdrop of Annapurna, the tenth highest peak in the world, is worth it.
- After breakfast we set off by jeep for Birethanti, about three hours away, and from there we continue on foot: our trek begins.
- Three days of walking ahead, nothing too complicated and suitable for everyone: just a small backpack for two nights in the Nepalese nature.
Lunch at Saulibazaar, jungle paths
- The first part of the day is flat terrain, perfect for enjoying the view. We stop in Saulibazaar just long enough to recharge our batteries.
- Two more hours along jungle paths and small villages show us what life is like in these parts, until Ghandruk: local museum, then our bed for the night.

Up to Chhomrong, last village before Base Camp
Kimrung Danda and a long sunset
We wake to the sounds of nature and the sun's rays filtering through the windows, warming the mountain landscape. Breakfast, and off we go.
- The first stretch is about two hours of hiking to Kimrung Danda, where we stop for lunch surrounded by the incredible scenery of the high Himalayan peaks.
- Then an hour downhill to Chhomrong, today's final stop and a very special place: the last village before Annapurna Base Camp.
- From here the view over the immense Nepalese massif is spectacular, and the sunsets are not easily forgotten. We stay out until the stars appear.

Thermal pools at Jhimodanda and down to Nayapul
The last stretch back to Pokhara
Last day of trekking, so we enjoy it to the fullest: for the most daring the alarm rings at dawn to see Annapurna in the warm early light.
- After breakfast we walk about an hour to Jhimodanda, where natural thermal pools wait. Swimming stop! The muscles we have used so much deserve it.
- After lunch we resume the path to Nayapul, another four hours, until we reach the jeeps waiting to take us back to Pokhara.
- Three intense and beautiful days end at the hotel, where a little relaxation doesn't sound bad at all.

Jeep excursion into Chitwan National Park
Rhinos, tigers and the Rapti River
Good morning Nepal! Mountains behind us, jungle ahead: this morning we head for the largest and most beautiful park in the country.
- In Chitwan National Park we board a jeep into the jungle, always accompanied by a local guide. Antelopes, macaques, snakes, crocodiles, rhinos and Bengal tigers: shivers guaranteed.
- Near the park, small towns full of restaurants and bars line the northern bank of the Rapti River: in one of these we settle for the night.
- Walking those little streets it's easy to meet wonderful tame elephants returning to their stables. We dine by the river, with only the songs of the animals.

Tharu village, then the road to Kathmandu
A morning on a long boat
A few hours of Chitwan National Park are still ours before the long drive back: these magical places are the last Nepalese nature we'll see up close.
- We can take a boat trip on a long boat, or visit the village of Tharu, soaking up Nepalese culture before we say goodbye.
- The return journey to Kathmandu takes about six hours, so we get comfortable and let the Nepalese landscape flow past the window.
- Towards late afternoon we arrive, check in and relax, then stroll the streets for a small restaurant and typical specialties.

Thamel market and the Garden of Dreams
Farewell dinner in the capital
One last day for Kathmandu, a city full of cultural and artistic contrasts where Hindu and Buddhist temples sit a few steps from the noise. Let's get lost in it!
- We dive into the Thamel market, the hippie area of the city and a must in Nepal, then explore on our own, hunting souvenirs among local handicrafts.
- For a break from the hustle and bustle there's the Garden of Dreams, also known as the Garden of the Six Seasons: an oasis of greenery with gardens and fountains.
- Its six very special pavilions are dedicated to the six seasons of Nepal. In the evening we meet for the farewell dinner and the last group photos.
