Itinerary

Ready to clock up the miles with the perfect playlist, a bit of sand in every corner (yes, even where you’d least expect it), and jaw-dropping views at every turn? This road trip along Australia’s East Coast has it all: from the laid-back waves of Noosa to the red-dusted roads around Rockhampton, from kangaroos hopping across the beach to the thrill of sailing around the Whitsundays.

And just when you think it couldn’t get any better, we’ll wrap things up in style with a tropical escape to Cairns before bidding farewell in vibrant Sydney. Every day promises those “Wow, look at this place!” moments, followed swiftly by “Wait—are we really in Australia?”, as we move from lush rainforests to dazzling coral reefs, from endless highways to sunsets straight off a postcard.

We’ll find silence in the wild beauty of Cape Hillsborough, and laughter in the shared smiles aboard our boat heading towards the Whitsunday Islands. And here’s a little spoiler: you’re bound to fall in love—whether with nature, freedom, or maybe even someone sitting by your window.

Backpack packed? Good. We kick off in Brisbane and roll all the way down to Sydney—but the real journey lies in every emotion, every view, and every story along the way.

Let’s hit the road!

Brisbane: First Dips & City Vibes

Today we’ll be taking it slow to shake off the jetlag... well, almost. Brisbane is a city that needs to be experienced, and with a free day to explore, we’ll do it properly.

We can start at South Bank: a man-made beach right in the heart of the city (yes, it really exists!), where a dip comes with skyline views. From there, a riverside stroll is a must. Fancy seeing the city from a different angle? Hop aboard the CityCat ferry and cruise along the river—keep an eye out for some seriously enviable dream homes along the banks.

For those keen to discover more, there’s Lone Pine Sanctuary, the world’s very first koala sanctuary. Here we’ll have the chance to get up close with these famously sleepy creatures (20 hours a day, to be precise—total life goals).

As evening falls, we’ll head to Fortitude Valley, where neon lights, live music, and rooftop bars show us Brisbane at its most vibrant. Tomorrow... the open road awaits!

Surf, Sunsets & Slow Living in Noosa

We wave goodbye to Brisbane and head north towards Noosa. It’s about a two-hour drive, but it’ll fly by with eucalyptus trees streaming past the window, surfers in flip-flops wandering the roadside, and our road-trip playlist setting the pace.

Noosa isn’t just any coastal town—it’s the coastal resort. This is where people catch waves at dawn, grab brunch before most of us are even awake, and follow a dress code that’s basically swimsuits, sunnies, and zero stress.

Our first stop? Noosa National Park, a wild jewel of rugged cliffs, forest trails, and hidden coves that look straight out of a dream. Keep your eyes peeled—you might spot a koala snoozing in the trees (and with 20 hours of nap time a day, your chances are pretty good). Don’t be put off by the name Hell’s Gates—it’s actually one of the most stunning viewpoints on the coast, with endless ocean stretching to the horizon.

In the afternoon, we’ll slow things down: a golden sunset at Main Beach, or maybe a drink on Hastings Street, the town’s buzzing strip of stylish boutiques and surf shops. Here, even sparkling water tastes cinematic—like you’ve stepped into your very own Australian film.

Fun fact: Noosa was one of the first places in the world to ban fast food chains. Everything here is about eating local, living slow, and breathing in those good vibes.

Choose Your Own Adventure in Noosa

From sandy islands to surfboards, or simply doing nothing at all (beautifully)

Today we’re slowing things down with a “free” day—though don’t be fooled: free doesn’t mean boring. In Noosa, even doing nothing is an art. Still, if sitting still isn’t your thing, there are plenty of ways to turn this day into its own little adventure.

You could join a 4x4 excursion to K’gari (locals no longer call it Fraser Island), the largest sand island in the world. Picture rainforests growing straight out of the dunes, freshwater lakes so clear they look unreal, and the occasional dingo eyeing you up with curious intensity. This is one of those places that will etch itself into your memory forever.

If the sea is calling, why not book a surfing lesson in Noosa? Known worldwide for longboarding, it’s beginner-friendly too—don’t worry if your last board was a sushi board, you’ll be standing up in no time. Hold your balance for three glorious seconds and you’ll feel like you’re ready for the World Surf League.

Prefer something calmer but still active? Head into the serene Noosa Everglades—no alligators here, just pure wonder. Rent a kayak, paddleboard, or boat at Noosa Habitat, and drift through waters so peaceful your mind itself seems to switch to “do not disturb.”

And if all else fails? Claim your spot at Main Beach, stretch out on a towel, and let your toughest decision be whether to order a papaya smoothie or an oat iced latte.

In the end, this day is all about choosing your own adventure—whether wild, watery, or wonderfully lazy. Tomorrow, we hit the road again, with sun-kissed skin, maybe a few sore muscles, and plenty of excitement for what’s ahead.

Saddles & Sunshine in Rockhampton

Today we leave the chic coastal charm of Noosa behind and make our way inland towards Rockhampton, affectionately known as the “cowboy capital of Australia.” It’s a journey of more than five hours on the road, but with postcard-perfect scenery rolling by and the soundtrack of our adventure playing, time will fly.

When we arrive, we’ll step into a whole new world: think statues of bulls on street corners, rodeo vibes in the air, and a historic centre full of colonial character. If you’ve still got some energy left, we’ll pay a visit to the Botanic Gardens & Zoo, where we can come face to face with a real crocodile—an encounter you won’t forget in a hurry.

A quirky highlight? The Tropic of Capricorn passes right through here. There’s even a delightfully kitschy monument marking the spot—so naturally, a group photo is absolutely mandatory.

Rockhampton (or “Rocky,” as the locals call it) may just be a stop on our journey, but it offers a taste of Queensland’s wilder, more rugged soul—a perfect contrast to the laid-back beach vibes we’ve left behind.

Dawn with kangaroos & sugarcane skies

We’re hitting the road early today — there’s a long drive ahead to reach Mackay, but that’s all part of the road trip magic. Playlist? Sorted. Snacks? Within reach. Spirit of adventure? Always.

The day’s unforgettable highlight awaits us at Cape Hillsborough National Park, and it’s something that feels like it was dreamed up by an overexcited storyteller: at dawn, kangaroos descend onto the beach for their morning stroll. And no, this isn’t a tourist gimmick — it’s real. As the first light of day breaks over the horizon, they’re already there, hopping gently across the sand as if starring in their own sunrise commercial.

If we’re willing to wake up very early, we’ll be rewarded with a truly surreal scene: just us, the sea, the silence, and some of Australia’s most iconic wildlife keeping us company. No tickets needed — just a small sacrifice of sleep.

After our morning photo safari, we’ll get back on the road towards Mackay, a town scented with sugarcane fields, ocean breezes, and a slower pace of life. It may not make the list of the world’s party capitals, but it’s full of that authentic, unfiltered Australia charm — the kind that sneaks up on you, much like the coffee in its local cafés: it takes a little time to arrive, but when it does, it’s worth the wait.

From hidden waterfalls to ocean breezes in Airlie Beach

Today we’re back on the road, this time bound for Airlie Beach — but not before a magical detour into Eungella National Park. Tucked between rugged mountains, this lush pocket of rainforest is a world of breathtaking views, secret waterfalls, and, if luck is on our side, a few shy platypuses surfacing in the river.

By afternoon, we’ll roll into Airlie Beach, the vibrant gateway to the spectacular Whitsundays. With its laid-back vibe, soft sandy beaches, and a sparkling lagoon inviting us in for a swim, it’s the perfect place to unwind after a day on the road. Tonight, the salty sea air will be calling — because tomorrow, we set sail.

A WOW day

Early start today — swimsuit on, sunscreen everywhere — because we’re off to explore the legendary Whitsundays, one of the most breathtaking places in the entire Southern Hemisphere (and, quite possibly, the Northern too). We’ll spend the day sailing through crystal-clear waters, snorkelling among vibrant coral reefs, and lazing on beaches so perfect they could have been painted.

A highlight of the day is Whitehaven Beach, home to the whitest sand on Earth — scientifically proven, not just a rumour. And from the Hill Inlet lookout, we’ll take in one of the most surreal panoramas nature has ever created: swirling turquoise waters, blindingly white sandbanks, and not a single filter required.

By late afternoon, we’ll sail back to Airlie Beach, a little salty, sun-kissed, and grinning from ear to ear.

Warning: you might catch yourself saying “wow” around 47 times today. Totally normal.

From winding coastal drives to sunset calm in Mission Beach

Another day on the road awaits — the kind we live for. We’ll jump back in the car and head towards Mission Beach, cruising past sweeping ocean views, endless green landscapes, and with our road trip playlist blasting all the way.

By the afternoon, we’ll roll into this little pocket of tropical paradise, where lush rainforest spills onto golden sands and time itself seems to slow down. Travellers flock here for two reasons: pure relaxation… or the ultimate adrenaline rush of jumping out of a plane. (But let’s not get ahead of ourselves — that part comes tomorrow!)

For now, we’ll soak up the laid-back vibe: a sunset walk along the beach, the soothing sound of the waves, and that rare, magical silence only certain places seem to hold.

Fun fact: Mission Beach is one of the few places in the world where you might spot a cassowary — the so-called “tropical dinosaur.” And if you do, admire it from a distance… trust us, it can outrun you.

Waterfalls, curves and goodbyes at the wheel

It’s our final day on the road — but fear not, we’re finishing this epic drive in style. From Mission Beach, we’ll make our way towards Cairns, passing through the breathtaking Atherton Tablelands — one of the lushest, coolest (finally!) and most scenic regions in all of Queensland.

Along the way, we’ll take our time, stopping to wander through tropical forests, dive beneath cascading waterfalls (including the famous Millaa Millaa Falls, star of countless shampoo commercials), and explore charming little villages where time seems to have stood still.

As we roll into Cairns, it’s time to bid farewell to our trusty cars — a well-deserved moment of appreciation (and maybe even a round of applause) for all the miles we’ve conquered together.

From tomorrow, the road trip becomes a reef trip: no more driving, just coral wonders, cocktails, and a full day of freedom to do whatever your heart desires.

Reef or pool? Tropical dilemmas

No alarms. No bags. No driving. Today is all about you, Cairns, and an entire day to decide what you feel like doing — or not doing at all. The choices? Plentiful. Almost overwhelming.

If adventure calls, embark on an excursion to the legendary Great Barrier Reef. Snorkel among a kaleidoscope of colourful fish and intricate coral gardens, and prepare yourself for those “wow — this deserves to be my phone wallpaper” moments. Prefer to keep your feet on land? Head into the lush Kuranda Rainforest, glide above the canopy on the scenic cable car, or wander through charming markets and leafy trails.

And if all you really want is to relax, the Cairns Lagoon is waiting: find a sun lounger, lather on the sunscreen, and slip into full holiday mode with a lazy afternoon by the water.

Pro tip: Today’s also perfect for a little souvenir shopping. And yes — the classic “No kangaroos in Cairns” T-shirt is always a winning choice.

From the reef to the city

Goodbye, tropics — today we trade the flip-flops and humidity of Cairns for the vibrant city pulse of Sydney, where the final (but by no means less epic) chapter of our journey awaits.

As soon as we land, the city’s energy hits us: towering skyscrapers, surfers weaving through downtown streets, skyline views worthy of a postcard, and that unmistakable “I could definitely stay here” feeling.

Once we’ve settled into our new urban surroundings, we’ll stretch our legs with a leisurely stroll — maybe even catching our first glimpse of the iconic Sydney Opera House — and breathe in that unique mix of ocean breeze and metropolitan buzz.

A free day to explore, savour and say goodbye in style.

Today you have just one mission: fall completely in love with Sydney. With no fixed plans and endless possibilities, the city is yours to explore however you wish.

You could start with the classic — and incredibly Instagrammable — coastal walk from Bondi to Coogee, or snap that must-have photo in front of the iconic Sydney Opera House. Feeling adventurous? Climb the Sydney Harbour Bridge for unbeatable views, or simply sip a coffee overlooking the bay and daydream about what life here might be like.

If culture is calling, visit the Art Gallery of NSW or wander through the historic streets of The Rocks. If relaxation is more your style, stake out a sunny spot on Bondi Beach, order an açai bowl, and watch the surfers carve up the waves.

Pro tip: Tonight is the perfect moment to raise a glass to our unforgettable adventure — perhaps with a gin and tonic on a rooftop overlooking the Opera House. After all, it’s our last night together… and yes, there may just be a tear in the eye.

About Australia

What are the entry requirements for Australia?

If you are a UK citizen, to find out the entry requirements for Australia, you can check this informational page from our partner Sherpa. If you need a visa, you can apply for it through Sherpa. If you are not a UK citizen, you can still use Sherpa by changing the nationality in the 'Passport' section.

Before traveling, always remember to check the government website of your country of origin for updates on the entry requirements for Australia – you wouldn’t want to stay home due to a bureaucratic detail!

What's the time zone in Australia?

Australia has multiple time zones, and it can get a bit complex due to daylight saving time.

  • Australian Western Standard Time (AWST): If it's 12pm in the UK, it's 7pm in AWST, and if it's 12pm in the USA (Eastern Time), it's 1am the next day in AWST.
  • Australian Central Standard Time (ACST): If it's 12pm in the UK, it's 8:30pm in ACST, and if it's 12pm in the USA (Eastern Time), it's 2:30am the next day in ACST.
  • Australian Eastern Standard Time (AEST): If it's 12pm in the UK, it's 9pm in AEST, and if it's 12pm in the USA (Eastern Time), it's 3am the next day in AEST.

Remember, during daylight saving time (from the first Sunday in October to the first Sunday in April), the clocks go forward one hour in regions observing it (not all do).

Which currency is used in Australia?

Australia uses the Australian Dollar (AUD). The current exchange rate is approximately 0.52 GBP, 0.64 USD, and 0.61 EUR for 1 AUD. You can exchange currency at airports, banks, or currency exchange offices in major cities. It's a good idea to compare rates to get the best deal.

How can I pay in Australia?

In Australia, you can pay using credit cards, debit cards, and contactless payment methods like Apple Pay and Google Pay. Major cards like Visa, MasterCard, and American Express are widely accepted. Cash is still used, but electronic payments are very common. It's a good idea to inform your bank about your travel plans to avoid issues with your cards being blocked. ATMs are readily available for withdrawing cash if needed.

Do I need to tip in Australia?

Tipping in Australia isn't as common as in the USA, but it's appreciated for excellent service. Restaurants and cafes don't expect tips, but leaving 10 percent for outstanding service is kind. In taxis, rounding up the fare is a nice gesture. For hotel staff, tipping a few dollars for helpful service is a good idea. Remember, tipping is discretionary, so go with what feels right for you.

What's the internet like in Australia? Should I buy a SIM card? How available is Wi-Fi?

Australia is not in Europe or the Schengen area, so using your home SIM for data might be costly. We suggest you buy a local SIM or an e-SIM data plan for better rates. Popular providers include Telstra, Optus, and Vodafone, which offer good coverage across the country. Wi-Fi is available in most urban areas, hotels, cafes, and airports, but it might be less accessible in remote regions. For constant connectivity, a local SIM is a good option.

What language do they speak in Australia?

In Australia, the official language is English. While you'll find it's generally the same as the English spoken in the UK or the USA, Australians have their own unique expressions. Here are a few you might hear:

  • "G'day" - Hello
  • "Arvo" - Afternoon
  • "Barbie" - Barbecue
  • "Fair dinkum" - Genuine or real
  • "Mate" - Friend or buddy

These colloquial terms are common, so you'll fit right in by using them!

What kind of plugs are used in Australia?

Australia uses Type I plugs. These plugs have two flat pins in a V-shape as well as a grounding pin. The standard voltage in Australia is 230V with a frequency of 50Hz. If you're traveling from the UK, the US, or other European countries, you'll need a universal adapter to use your electronics in Australia. Make sure your devices can handle the 230V voltage to avoid any issues.

What’s the main religion in Australia?

Australia is a culturally diverse nation with Christianity being the predominant religion. However, the country is known for its religious tolerance and diversity, with many Australians identifying as having no religion. Important Christian holidays celebrated include Christmas and Easter. Due to Australia's multicultural society, you will also notice celebrations from other religions such as Islam, Hinduism, and Buddhism.

What should I pack for Australia?

Australia is known for its diverse climate and stunning landscapes, so you'll want to be prepared for anything. Here's a list of essentials to pack in your backpack:

  • Clothing:
    • Lightweight t-shirts
    • Shorts
    • Long pants for cooler evenings
    • Swimsuit
    • Light jacket or sweater

What’s the weather like in Australia?

Australia's weather varies significantly depending on the region and season, so it's great to plan ahead:

  • Northern Australia: Tropical climate with a wet season (November to April) and a dry season (May to October). Best time to visit is during the dry season for cooler temperatures and less humidity.
  • Southern Australia: Temperate climate with four seasons. Summers (December to February) can be hot, while winters (June to August) are cooler and wetter. Spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) are generally mild and pleasant.

Always check the specific region's forecast before you go!

About WeRoad

Is the flight included?

Round-trip flights are not included in any of our trips because we like to give you autonomy and flexibility: you can choose the airline you want to fly with, the departure airport that suits you best, and how many and which stops you want to make.

Since flights are not included, you also have more flexibility with your travel dates: if possible, you can arrive at your destination a few days earlier or return home a bit later – or even continue independently to a nearby destination!

What is the Money Pot and how does it work?

This is the question of all questions, and here’s the answer, broken down into points!

The Money Pot is a common fund collected in local currency from all tour participants and managed by your Travel Coordinator.

It is used to streamline paymentsfor extra activities, goods and services that the whole group decides to do and to guarantee flexibility in choosing activities and excursions at the destination in line with the mood of the group.

It is typically collected on the first day of the trip in local currency, although at times, the Travel Coordinator may ask for it to be paid before departure.

You’ll find the amount of the money pot on the website under the section ‘What’s included in the money pot’ – how do you get there? Look for ‘What’s included’, scroll down to ‘Money pot? Click here’, and you’ll find the details.

The amount varies depending on the destination chosen.

It is used exclusively for group expenses that ALL participants decide to take part in.

It is estimated based on the experiences of other groups but can vary depending on the needs of the group itself. As such, the Travel Coordinator may need to increase the amount during the trip.

If not all of the money pot is used, the difference will be returned to all participants at the end of the trip in equal amounts.

The Money Pot also covers the Travel Coordinator’s share of the activities included in the money pot, except for those activities that are free for the Travel Coordinator.

If you pay in advance part of the money pot before the trip for certain non-refundable optional activities, unfortunately, the amount cannot be refunded in case of trip cancellation.

Which are the accepted payment methods?

We offer several payment methods to fit every need:

1. Credit or prepaid card (Visa, Mastercard, American Express);
2. Instalment payment with Scalapay up to €4,999 (only available with the “Full trip payment” option – not available with the “Deposit and balance” option; pay in 3 instalments up to €1,200 or in 4 instalments over €1,200);
3. PayPal (for selected destinations);
4. Revolut Pay to pay even faster straight from your Revolut account;
5. Welfare credit – BEFORE BOOKING, reach out to us at [email protected].

If you choose the deposit and balance option, you’ll also be able to pay the balance via bank transfer from your Personal Area.

Can I cancel or modify my booking?

Anyone who books a WeRoad trip has the option to cancel or modify the trip – including both the dates and the destination – free of charge up to 31 days before departure. In case of cancellation, you will receive a 100% refund of the WeRoad trip price. (Deposits will be refunded in the form of a gift card valid for 365 days from issue date.) If you make a change, a price adjustment will be applied to the new trip chosen – meaning, if the new trip is cheaper, we will refund the difference; if it’s more expensive, you will need to pay the difference.

If you’ve purchased the Flexible Cancellation Option (which you can add in the first step of the booking process), you can request a cancellation or trip change until 8 days before departure. In case of cancellation, you’ll receive a 100% refund of the WeRoad trip price, minus the cost of the Flexible Cancellation option. Deposits will be refunded in the form of a gift card valid for 365 days from issue date.

You can do it directly from your personal MyWeRoad account!

Within your booking you will find the "Change Your Trip" section at the bottom right, just underneath your booking details. You will be able to select a different date for the same trip, or a different trip entirely. Whether you are able to change the trip depends on the cancellation terms of your booking. For your original booking if you selected the Private Room, Flexible Cancellation or entered any discount code, gift card or voucher, before confirming the change we will let you know if anything isn't applicable to the new trip and you can decide whether to proceed or not. If you have any issues please do get in touch with the WeRoad team and we'll be able to help.

It's not possible to move to a 'sold out' trip and with any trips that are 'on request' we will need to check availability with our local partners so please do get in touch if you want to move to an 'on request' trip. Please bear in mind that if the trip has the 'final spots' status, there may be no places left in either the male or female room.

How to request a cancellation or change to your trip? Send us an email at [email protected] or a WhatsApp on +447716573700. Please share the booking reference for the trip you want to cancel or change, and, in case of a change, the new trip you would like to join.

What type of accommodation should I expect on your trips?

In general, we always choose local accommodations, avoiding large hotel chains, because we love to experience the culture of the place and, whenever possible, contribute to the local economy. Typically, our accommodations are hotels, apartments, guesthouses, and hostels run by local entrepreneurs, with the same standard maintained across all trips in the same destination.

For our Collection trips, which are our premium category, the accommodations are always 4 or 5-star or carefully selected boutique hotels.

The list of accommodations for your trip will be shared with you by your Travel Coordinator between 5 and 3 days before departure, along with other useful details for your adventure!

Why do we have the Money Pot on all WeRoad trips?

If you're wondering why WeRoad trips have a money pot, we’re assuming you already know what it is. If not, or if you have any doubts, we invite you to read all the information here!

Let’s quickly recap: The Money Pot is a common fund collected in local currency from all tour participants and managed by your Travel Coordinator. It’s used to speed up payments for extra activities, goods and services that the whole group decides to do and to guarantee flexibility in choosing activities and excursions at the destination in line with the mood of the group.

But let’s get to the point: why the money pot? First of all: it gives us a lot of flexibility. In all WeRoad trips you will have a bunch of Must See/Must Do activities already included - these are experiences, places or activities that simply cannot be missed! Any extra activities is decided by the group, why? Because each group is unique and may have particular wants or desires and the Money Pot allows each group to customise their trip to make it perfect for their requirements!

It also helps us speed up paymentsimagine being in the subway in New York City, one by one purchasing the ticket...a nightmare right? Thanks to the Money Pot, the Travel Coordinator can simply purchase the tickets for everyone making the entire processes smoother! Any leftover money will be returned at the end of the trip and split equally amongst all participants.

In some destinations, buying goods or services on site is more economical as you are able to negotiate the price - places like Morocco, or South East Asia, bargaining is part of the culture. As such, our Travel Coordinators will be able to secure the best deal for all participants.

The amount of the money pot is specified in each trip – look for this button

which will take you to a detailed breakdown for each trip, like this:

Can I find out my travel groups' flights?

Even if we don't know the flights of all WeRoaders, there are several ways to find out which flights your travel companions have purchased.

1. Each WeRoader has the ability to communicate their flight details after booking within their personal area so that other travel companions can see the details anonymously. Enter your booking and you will find this section:

2. If you want to find out before booking, instead, you can contact us and we will support you in your search or you can ask your travel companions for direct information by joining our Facebook group 'WeRoad... let's get to know each other before leaving! (official)' – (here is the extended link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/weroadit) look for a post associated with your trip, or ask the group administrators for help in getting in touch with your future adventure companions!

If the coordinator has already been assigned to the trip you are interested in, you can easily find his/her presentation post in the group through the site: in the shift list click on 'Ask the coordinator', or in the trip tab, in the coordinator section, click on 'Ask [coordinator name] about this shift in our Facebook group'. For both cases, see the screenshots below!

What's the average size and age of a WeRoad group?

In all our groups, the Travel Coordinator and participants speak English – knowing how to speak and understand English is therefore a fundamental requirement to participate in our trips.

On average the groups are made up of 6-15 people, with a minimum of 3/4 participants and a maximum of 15.

All our travellers are in theirs 20s, 30s and 40s. If you're very curious to know the age range of the group for a tour you're interested in, you can see this by finding the trip on our website, and clicking the down arrow to see the ages & genders of participants. You'll need to have created a WeRoad account with us to do this.

Any issues finding this info just give our team in the office a call, we're always happy to help!

Regarding the male-female ratio, this is not guaranteed and varies trip by trip.

Can I see who’s in the group before I book the trip?

Yes! If you're curious, you can take a sneak peek at the group before booking – although, in our opinion, that kind of spoils the surprise! You’ll find the info in the ‘Group’ section for each trip on the departures page, showing how many WeRoaders have already booked. Click the little arrow and you’ll even see their gender and ages – but hey, that’s exclusive info, so we’ll ask you to log in or sign up to see that!

If a location is mentioned, is it guaranteed that we’ll spend the night there?
For some trips, in the itinerary section, you’ll find the number of nights and the location (not the hotel) where you’ll be spending the night(s). The location shown is the one we usually go for on most trips, but in some cases, you might end up staying in a nearby town — depending on logistics or the availability of our partner accommodations during the season.

The list of accommodations for your trip (and therefore also the exact locations) will be shared by your Travel Coordinator between 5 and 2 days before departure, along with other useful info for your adventure!
Who is and what does the Travel Coordinator do?

The WeRoad Travel Coordinator is an experienced and skilled traveller and will be the perfect companion for your trip. They will be available for any eventuality and will manage all the logistical aspects of the itinerary (transports, timings, accommodations, meeting points, etc.), so you can enjoy the trip without any worries!

You will have the chance to get to know them when the WhatsApp group is created approximately 2 weeks before departure - this will be the moment to ask any pre-departure questions and get to know the rest of the group! If the trip you are interested in already has a Travel Coordinator assigned, you can contact them before booking – their details will be specified in the schedule or on the trip page, or you can search for their name here. After booking, you will find their contact details in your Personal Area, under ‘Bookings and Trips’ > ‘Your Upcoming Trips’ > ‘Trip Details’.

Will I share the room?

Yes, in all our trips you will share a room with other same-sex travellers, and the bathroom will either be private or shared only with fellow participants of the trip. The rooms we select can be doubles, triples, quadruples, or multi-bed (up to 8 people in exceptional cases), depending on the destination and availability.

There are never dorms with people outside the WeRoad group, except in certain cases for local experiences, which are specifically mentioned in the itinerary or communicated before booking. These typically involve specific nights in unique accommodations like tents, homestays, or camping, offering a more adventurous travel experience in exchange for some comfort.

During the booking process, you can also choose to opt for a mixed room: in this case, if needed, only those who have agreed to this option may share a room with travellers of a different sex. If you are booking for multiple people together and select this option, the room will not be exclusive to your group but may be shared with other travellers in the group.

How can I be part of the community?

When you set off on a WeRoad trip, you’re officially a WeRoader – and as we often say, 'Once a WeRoader, always a WeRoader'. This means that once you’re part of the community, a little piece of WeRoad will always stay with you, even if you no longer travel with us.

But you’re not just a WeRoader during your trips, far from it! The community is alive and active all year round: you can stay in touch by following and interacting on our social media channels, like the Facebook group or the Instagram profile. We can also meet up for a dinner or a trek together at one of the events organised by our coordinators around the world!
