How does WeRoad work?
We’ll keep it short. Choose your trip based on departure dates, destinations, and travel style… then book! Once you receive the email confirming your trip, book your round-trip flights to the destination - no, they’re not included in the package, we like flexibility!
15 days before departure, the group leader will create a WhatsApp group so you can start getting to know your future travel mates. That’s it: enjoy your WeRoad trip! You’ll share incredible experiences, discover local culture, and live every moment to the fullest - you’ll probably shed a few tears when it’s time to say goodbye, but that’s totally normal!
Is the flight included?
Flights are not included: we like flexibility! This way, you’re free to choose which airport to depart from, which airline to fly with, how many layovers to make, and, if you wish, stay a few extra days at your destination.
We can help you choose your flights (just get in touch!), and we also offer discounts you can use with some of the major airlines.
Are WeRoad group trips suitable for solo travelers?
Yes, and it’s actually the most common case. The vast majority of WeRoad travelers book individually, without a group of friends to travel with.
That said, you can also book and travel with one or more friends! It can be a great way to bond even more and meet new people together. The more, the merrier!
Where's the best (and most affordable) place to travel for New Year's Eve?
Those two rarely point to the same place, so it helps to decide which matters more. For the night itself, New York is the classic, while Iceland and Swedish Lapland trade fireworks for the Northern Lights. For value, keep in mind that flights aren't included: traveling from the US, airfare is the larger half of your budget either way. A short European trip like Copenhagen or the Amalfi Coast has the lowest trip price, but a longer itinerary through Morocco, Bali or Vietnam usually costs less per day once you've already paid to cross an ocean.
What's the cheapest place to travel for New Year in January?
January is the cheapest stretch of the entire winter, for a simple reason: once the holiday rush clears in the first days of the month, both flights and trip prices drop sharply. Pushing your departure to after roughly January 5th instead of traveling over New Year's itself can save you a meaningful amount on the same itinerary. Southeast Asia gives you the most for your money in January — Thailand, Vietnam and Bali are all in peak dry season. You'll find January departures listed under our winter trips.
Is it suitable for solo travelers?
Yes, and over the holidays especially. Most WeRoaders book on their own, so on a New Year's departure you won't be the odd one out: the whole group is in the same position. You'll join a small group matched by age range, with a Group Leader who handles the logistics and makes sure dinner on the 31st isn't dinner with strangers. Spending New Year's away from home doesn't mean spending it alone.
