Bali and Gili Backpack: Seminyak, Ubud, Gili Trawangan & Starry Glamping

Itinerary
Bali, backpack style: the perfect mix of adventure, nature and shared moments. From the ocean vibes of Seminyak we head up to the green mountains of Bedugul, with mist-covered lakes, water temples and fresh air. In Kintamani we sleep immersed in nature with a view of the volcanic landscapes of Batur, around a bonfire under the stars, then set off before dawn for the trek up Mount Batur.
Next comes Ubud, the spiritual and artistic heart of Bali: rice paddies, cafes hidden in the jungle, local markets, yoga vibes and temples, plus an extra day with no rush to explore, shop or book a Balinese massage. A fast boat takes us to Gili Trawangan: white beaches, turquoise sea and zero traffic for two full days. The trip ends where it began, in Seminyak, with sunsets over the ocean, beach bars, local spots and the scent of incense.

Welcome to Bali
1 night: Seminyak
Arrival in Seminyak and first tropical vibes
We land in Bali, the Island of the Gods: ahead of us, a week of ocean, volcanoes, jungle and endless sunsets.
Check-in in Seminyak, one of the island's most vibrant and international districts: scooters zipping by, ocean-view beach clubs, live music and the scent of street food.
No strict plans today: chill on the beach, stroll along the promenade or toast the first sunset of the trip with a cocktail in the sand.
The perfect time to get to know the group and get into that backpacker mood. Let's go!

Lake Bratan and Bedugul
1 night: Bedugul
Temples, lakes and mountains
Our road trip is underway! We leave the coast for Bali's hinterland, along scenic roads and through tropical forests.
Stop at the famous Ulun Danu Beratan temple, perched on Lake Bratan: framed by mountains, it seems to float on the water. Photos are mandatory!
On to Bedugul, a cool, lush area known for its chill atmosphere: fresh air, silence and breathtaking views for the rest of the day.

Bali, the slow way
1 night: Bedugul
Nature, villages and fresh air
Today we slow down and soak in the most authentic side of Bali, worlds away from the coastal chaos.
We explore Bedugul's villages tucked into lush greenery at our own pace, among tropical forests and postcard landscapes.
A stop at a local warung to taste authentic Balinese specialties.
Craving more adventure? Choose between a rainforest trek with a canoe excursion or a fun buggy ride through the hills and plantations of Munduk.

Kintamani and a night under the stars
1 night: Kintamani
Road trip among volcanoes and a glamping experience
We're off again towards Kintamani, one of Bali's most incredible areas, famous for its volcanic views.
Along the way: local villages, scenic roads and endless green terraces, all the way to the foot of Mount Batur.
Here a night of glamping awaits, fully immersed in nature, with fresh air, mountains and a starry sky.
A roaring campfire and an outdoor BBQ dinner: great food, the warmth of the fire and chats under the stars. What more could we want?

Sunrise on Mount Batur
1 night: Ubud
Volcano trekking and arrival in Ubud
The alarm goes off super early, but trust us, it's worth every lost minute of sleep!
Before dawn we tackle the trek up Mount Batur, one of Bali's most famous volcanoes, hiking in the dark with our headlamps on.
We reach the summit just in time for sunrise over the volcanic caldera: one of the most iconic moments of the trip.
After the descent, some downtime or, if you're up for it, the local hot springs.
Later we make our way to Ubud, Bali's spiritual and artistic heart, with temples, rice paddies and jungle-hidden cafes.

Ubud state of mind
1 night: Ubud
Rice paddies, spirituality and slow living
Today is all about Ubud, arguably the place that best captures Bali's authentic soul.
Narrow streets packed with temples, artisan markets and hidden gems, or the famous rice terraces nearby.
A possible visit to the iconic Monkey Forest, a true Ubud must-see.
Feeling active? Join a Balinese cooking class or go rafting through jungle and tropical rivers. Otherwise, a Balinese massage, a yoga class or a cafe surrounded by nature. Time really slows down here!

Gili Trawangan
1 night: Gili Trawangan
Off to the Gili Islands
We've reached the final stop of our trip, and it's absolute paradise!
Goodbye to the lush greenery of Ubud: we head down to Padang Bai to catch a fast boat.
Destination: Gili Trawangan, the chillest island in the Bali sea. No cars, no traffic, just white beaches and turquoise water.
Check-in, and this slice of heaven becomes our home for the next two days, on island time.

Chill out in the Gili Islands
2 nights: Gili Trawangan
Island life on Gili Trawangan
Two days all to ourselves on Gili Trawangan: no schedule, no alarms, we decide how to spend them.
Explore the most beautiful beaches and just chill.
Dive into crystal-clear waters to swim with colorful fish.
Cycle around the island by bike, or wait for the sunset with feet in the sand and a cocktail in hand. Exactly what we needed!

Return to Seminyak
1 night: Seminyak
Relaxation, beach vibes and total freedom
Today we retrace our steps and should reach Seminyak in the afternoon, fingers crossed for no surprises!
Fast boat to Padang Bai, then a private minivan to our hotel in Seminyak.
A few free hours for the beach, super Instagrammable cafes, markets, local boutiques and hidden beach bars. Anyone who wants can treat themselves to a Balinese massage.
Sunset in Seminyak is practically a collective ritual: tonight we relive the great moments shared together and figure out why Bali wins over everyone who sets foot here.

Bye Bye Bali
Last moments on the Island of the Gods
Last morning in Bali: time to say goodbye to the Island of the Gods... at least for now!
A relaxed breakfast, last-minute souvenirs or a few more hours soaking up the chilled-out vibes of Ubud.
