Itinerary

Ready for an epic adventure in China? We explore the wonders of a thousand-year-old country, from avant-garde metropolises where skyscrapers stand alongside ancient traditional buildings to its most stunning natural landscapes. It starts in Beijing, with its ancient temples, the Forbidden City and Tiananmen Square, and continues on the Great Wall, the quintessential symbol of the ancient empire, a stone serpent stretching for thousands of kilometers.

Next come the immense Terracotta Army, the friendly giant pandas of Chengdu in their nature reserves, and traditional villages like Furong, where time seems to stand still and we glimpse the daily lives of Chinese farmers. We walk among the rock spires of the Zhangjiajie Mountains, the inspiration for the movie Avatar, before ending in Shanghai, a modern metropolis that gazes toward the future.

Check-in: Our adventure begins in Beijing!

Round trip flights are not included in the package, so you can choose from where and when you want to fly. This is to give you maximum freedom of choice!

Check in at the hotel in Beijing and meet the rest of the group! We are in the capital of China, rich in ancient history yet incredibly modern.

  • For dinner, how about some Chinese delicacies? Spaghetti with soy sauce, Peking chicken, fried tofu and the delicious jiaozi (Chinese dumplings): a cuisine that satisfies all palates!

  • We toast to the start of our adventure with some baijiu, a famous liquor loved by the people of Beijing.

  • Tomorrow, the real journey begins!

A long stone wall with watchtowers winds across lush green mountains under the golden light of a sunrise.

One of the seven wonders of the world

The Great Wall awaits us! We reach one of the access points and walk along a stone snake that winds for kilometers.

  • Wind in our hair and our gaze lost on the horizon.

  • It is said that the Wall was built to protect China from invaders: today it stands as a symbol of unity and national pride.

  • With comfortable shoes on, we uncover its secrets: watchtowers, hidden passages and breathtaking views.

  • The rush of adrenaline and the satisfaction of reaching such an ambitious goal!

Discovering the capital

A full day in Beijing to discover its secrets and hidden corners, diving into history and imperial culture.

  • The Temple of Heaven, an architectural masterpiece where emperors prayed for a good harvest, and the Summer Palace, a peaceful haven with breathtaking gardens and elegant pavilions. We'll feel like the stars of a period film!

  • In the afternoon, the Forbidden City: sumptuous palaces, secret gardens and vast courtyards where emperors once roamed. Did you know it has over 9,000 rooms? It takes days to see it all, so we'll focus on the best parts.

  • The hill of Jingshan Park, where the Forbidden City appears as a jewel set in the city.

  • To end on a high note, Beihai Park, an oasis of peace in the heart of Beijing: we can rent a pedal boat on the lake and admire the White Pagoda and the Nine-Dragon Wall.

A narrow paved street flanked by traditional brick buildings decorated with red paper lanterns under a cloudy sky.

The charm of Ancient China

This morning there's still time for a walk around Beijing, to see what we missed yesterday or pick up some souvenirs (although it might be a bit early to fill our backpacks!).

  • After lunch, a train takes us from modern Beijing to the more traditional Pingyao, a town that still retains the charm of ancient China.

  • A hidden gem in Shanxi Province and the most authentic side of China: streets, temples and a relaxed atmosphere, a world away from the chaos of Beijing.

  • Pingyao is nicknamed “the city of red lanterns”: tonight we walk through streets lit by thousands of lanterns and pick the perfect spot to taste a good local dish.

A traditional Chinese pagoda with green-tiled roofs sits atop a stone wall under a sky with clouds and piercing sunbeams.

Pingyao - a UNESCO World Heritage Site

A whole day to discover Pingyao, a UNESCO World Heritage Site famous for having remained unchanged for over a thousand years.

  • Intact medieval walls, plus many shops and wooden houses with the typical design of the Ming era.

  • A stroll along Ming-Qing Street, where we truly feel we've arrived in real China: the shop with the strangest artisan products, then a small restaurant for lunch.

  • Temple bells, street vendors and the scents of incense, tea and local delicacies: we listen to the stories of the locals and taste typical Chinese dishes.

  • Time until mid-afternoon, then the train to Xi'an. Tomorrow, new adventures await us!

Rows of life-sized terracotta warrior statues standing in formation inside large, excavated earthen pits.

The Terracotta Warriors

We reached Xi'an yesterday evening, and today we discover a new face of China: a magical city rich in history and mystery.

  • The Terracotta Army, one of the most fascinating works of the human race: a sight that will leave us speechless.

  • Thousands of terracotta warriors, each with a unique expression, discovered by chance by farmers digging a well. Sounds like the start of a joke, but it's a true story!

  • A relaxed afternoon strolling around Xi'an, with some peace at the Big Wild Goose Pagoda, an oasis of serenity in the heart of the city.

  • Then a late afternoon train to Chengdu.

A panda cub clings to the side of a tree with rough bark, looking towards the camera with its tongue sticking out.

One of the world's food capitals

Chengdu is renowned worldwide for its delicious cuisine and, above all, for being the home of giant pandas.

  • After breakfast, we venture out of the city center to meet these adorable little bears as they play, sleep or embark on some funny adventures.

  • Don't forget your camera: pandas are famous for their unexpected acrobatics!

  • UNESCO has recognized Chengdu as one of the world's food capitals: spicy dishes, intense aromas and surprising combinations. Chopsticks ready (yes, they love spicy food here).

  • In the evening, guess what? Another train, headed for Chongqing!

A person uses chopsticks to serve flat noodles and greens into bowls lined with plastic at a street food stall.

Chongqing, skyscrapers and temples

Today we wake up in Chongqing, a city that will truly amaze us.

  • Ultramodern skyscrapers rising alongside ancient temples and historical districts.

  • Ciqikou, an ancient district filled with traditional houses, craft shops and restaurants: not to be missed!

  • We can't stay long in Chongqing: a new train awaits us, but we promise it's the last one of this trip!

  • We head toward one of the highlights of our journey: Furong and the Avatar Mountains.

A traditional Chinese pavilion and covered zigzag bridge cross a tranquil pond in a lush classical garden with a weeping willow.

Heaven’s Gate: where the earth meets the sky

Good morning! Our journey continues as we leave the charming village of Furong and head toward the awe-inspiring Tianmen Mountain.

  • Here stands the legendary Heaven’s Gate, a massive natural arch and one of China's most iconic landscapes.

  • Legends say this is where the earth meets the sky, and every step is steeped in ancient mystery.

  • Breathtaking views and a walk on the thrilling glass skywalk: who's up for it?

  • Then we reach Zhangjiajie for the night, ready to dream of floating mountains and sky-high adventures.

Tall, thin rock pillars topped with green vegetation rise from a dense forest, with misty mountains in the background.

Immersed in nature

After a hearty breakfast, today is ours to explore the legendary Avatar Mountains.

  • We immerse ourselves in the magical atmosphere of the place: towering spires and lush forests, just like in the movie!

  • After a few hours in the park, a transfer takes us to the airport for our flight to Shanghai.

A modern city skyline at night, with illuminated buildings and a tall tower reflecting on the calm water.

Last day of travel: Shanghai and the Bund

Finally, Shanghai! This morning we head straight to the Old City, a labyrinth of narrow streets and traditional houses.

  • The Yu Yuan Garden, a jewel of Chinese landscape architecture with pavilions, ponds and bridges.

  • The little shops of the Old City, perfect for unique souvenirs.

  • To end on a high note, we can hop aboard a cruise on the Huangpu River: the illuminated skyline from a different perspective, a cocktail and some appetizers.

  • A fitting conclusion to an incredible trip we shared and will likely remember for the rest of our lives.

Large open red gates with golden knobs frame a traditional Chinese palace, guarded by two bronze lion statues.

Had an awesome time on the China 360 tour led by Kevin. Right from the very start, all 13 of us were quick to bond with family style dining & the early days in Beijing are a surprise to jetlagged eyes with the animation of local tour rep Jessie & her endless giveaways! That family style flowed into Pingyao with karaoke sealing those bonds. Five high speed trains that still took hours with peaks of 300km/h helped all to gel more & share lots of quaint chinese snack treats. So many memories unlocked: Great Wall, Giant Pandas, City illuminations & Lanterns, Waterfalls, Historic Temples & mountains with glass bridges. A love affair with DiDi shows in my invoices including a private visit to the tennis being held locally. Only real con was my choice of luggage: Turns out an overstuffed duffel without wheels isnt great for distance between the train & the transfers pickup #neveragain For anyone wanting a whistlestop exploration of China I'd highly recommend this one!Joe Fernandez11/10/2026

Coordinator on the ball! Everything was perfectly organized to allow us to truly experience China 360°, without worries and without hassle. It was a beautiful experience, even if demanding. There was no shortage of moments of relaxation, free time, and improvisations that made the trip even more beautiful. Expectations for the next trip are very high. Fantastic coordinator, did I already say that?Sara B.07/10/2026
