Geneva & Annecy Weekend: Chocolatiers and Pearls of the Alps

Itinerary
A weekend blending the cosmopolitan elegance of Geneva with the fairytale charm of Annecy, where the snow-capped Alps reflect in crystal-clear lakes. This itinerary will lead us to discover two alpine gems through authentic experiences that stimulate your senses: from the intense aroma of Geneva's historic chocolateries to the irresistible scent of creperies along the canals.
We'll start in cosmopolitan Geneva, navigating on the iconic Mouettes that skim the lake's waters. We'll get lost in the cobbled streets of the old town, admire the famous Jet d'Eau, and discover the artisan Swiss chocolate shops - true institutions of tradition where every praline tells a story of excellence.
Crossing the French border, Annecy will welcome us with its timeless charm: pastel-colored houses overlooking the canals, flowery bridges, and the picturesque Palais de l'Île emerging from the turquoise water as if from an old-fashioned postcard. From Annecy Castle, you'll enjoy breathtaking views of one of Europe's purest lakes, before savoring a gourmet crêpe included in the tour, while sitting by the canals in the historic center.
Ready to go? We'll experience an unforgettable weekend of alpine panoramas, sweet temptations, and enchanting canals!

From the airport, the Léman Express will whisk you to Annemasse in just 15 minutes. Accommodation will be in Annemasse, a strategic base between Switzerland and France. Time to drop those backpacks, break the ice, and get to know each other during the Welcome Meeting: we'll discover who our adventure buddies will be amidst chocolatiers and alpine lakes.
Fancy a drink to kick off the weekend? You bet! Right after, we'll dive into the cosmopolitan atmosphere of the Franco-Swiss border with a welcome beverage. Amidst chats, laughter, and clinking glasses, our alpine weekend officially begins.
Get ready: Swiss chocolate, romantic canals, and breathtaking views await. The best is yet to come!

Annecy: The Venice of the Alps
1 night: Annemasse
Annecy: The Venice of the Alps
Wake up to an Alpine view! After breakfast, we'll head to Annecy, ready to explore one of Europe's most romantic cities. We'll kick things off with a visit to the Château d'Annecy, perched on the hill: from the top, breathtaking panoramas of the colorful rooftops and the turquoise lake will leave you speechless, so get your cameras ready! Then, we'll wander down into the Vieille Ville for our included crêpe (sweet or savory) at a typical local crêperie. Enjoy it while sitting by the picturesque Palais de l'Île, suspended over the crystal-clear water: pure Savoyard magic.
In the afternoon, a romantic stroll awaits at the Pont des Amours and some relaxation on the shores of Europe's purest lake. For the more active: try stand-up paddleboarding, a pedal boat, or kayaking on the transparent waters, or enjoy some free time to get lost among artisan boutiques and postcard-perfect scenes that look like they're straight out of a movie. We'll head back to Annemasse in the evening, with hearts full of unforgettable memories. Tomorrow? Geneva awaits us again!

Geneva: Elegance and Chocolate
Geneva: Elegance and Chocolate
Last day of cosmopolitan elegance! After breakfast, we'll use the daily public transport ticket to catch the Léman Express: in just 25 minutes, we're in the heart of Geneva. We'll start with a stroll through the historic chocolatiers of the old town, where the aroma of artisanal Swiss chocolate fills the cobblestone streets. Here, every boutique tells a centuries-old tradition of excellence – impossible to resist a taste! Then comes the most iconic moment: we'll hop aboard the Mouettes Genevoises, the famous yellow boats that cross the lake. With the included pass, we'll glide across the water, passing close to the majestic Jet d'Eau, the city's iconic fountain soaring 140 meters high. Seeing Geneva from the water is an unforgettable experience, with the Alps in the background and the elegance of the shore reflecting in the blue. Our alpine weekend is coming to an end, but the memories will last forever!

We had a fantastic coordi Tayler who made sure everyone was included. This was my first WeRoad and had a great time. Geneva and Annecy are both stunning places to visit and the activities were really fun and interesting. We managed to go on the weekend during the Retour des Alpages animal parade which was incredible to witness.

I went on a trip to geneva with Jessica Irish gal and she really made the trip that much more enjoyable. She included everyone , spoke to everyone was flexible with the itinerary made sure everyone was informed and ok with what we did in the day. Her energy helped us keep up the good vibes when we felt tired. I would definitely like to have another trip with Jessica loved her character. Although was a short trip 3 days and 2 nights we managed to do so much (without feeling rushed). What I liked also was that she kept in mind the people in the group whom were meat eaters and whom were vegetarian whilst making sure to book places we all could eat . Such a good trip thank you we road.

This is the second trip I’ve done now and from the moment of booking the Weroad process is smooth, welcoming and efficient. The coordinators are phenomenal and go out of their way to ensure the group feel valued. The trips are exciting and often to places I’ve never even heard of but have adored discovering. There’s always a good balance between exploring and having fun with others. I cannot recommend them highly enough

It was my first WeRoad trip and what made the journey easy and smooth was having such an amazing group leader. Met a great group of people, made some new friends (who happened to also celebrate my birthday there with a huge cake and card) and I had an amazing weekend in Geneva and Annecy!!
