Itinerary

Genova verticale, vertigine, aria, scale.’ So said Giorgio Caproni about the Superba. To find out if it’s true, try spending a weekend exploring Genova, amongst its narrow streets, the scent of the sea and authentic flavours.

There’s no better way to explore this fascinating city than to lose yourself in its “caruggi”: narrow streets that tell tales of the sea, merchants and ancient traditions. From the elegance of the Rolli Palaces to the panoramic views fromSpianata Castelletto, Genoa knows how to surprise you at every turn.

We’ll set off from Piazza De Ferrari, the heart of the city, before heading to the most spectacular view points. We’ll stroll along Corso Italia to Boccadasse, an ancient pastel-coloured fishing village, perfect for an aperitif at sunset. Did you know there’s a famous cat living there?

We’ll lose ourselves among historic markets, the scent of freshly baked focaccia and hidden squares that seem to have stepped out of a De André lyrics. Between a taste of pesto and a visit to the historic districts, we’ll enjoy an authentic and unforgettable experience. And to round it all off in style, we’ll sail along the Genoese coast towards Camogli: seeing Genoa from the sea, with its villages and neighbourhoods sloping down towards the water, is something you’ll never forget. Genoa means culture, the sea, good food and timeless atmospheres.

Are you ready to set off? Join us for a special weekend in the heart of La Superba!

Welcome to Genova

The weekend will kick off in the late afternoon directly in the city center with a welcome drink with an italian aperitivo, offering a chance to taste the real Genoese pesto or the tasty olives taggiasche. This is the perfect opportunity to get to know each other over a craft local beer or a glass of italian wine in a cozy spot loved by locals in the center of the old town.

We can then visit Genoa’s Old Port with the night lights for our first evening together, enjoying local cuisine, good drinks or a gelato, walking around and taking pictures for the first time of the famous Lanterna di Genova, a symbol of Genoa.

A harbor with colorful buildings and boats is seen through a rectangular opening in a rough stone wall.

Camogli

After breakfast we’ll head back to the Old Port to board our boat to Camogli.

This charming village, the setting for a famous Italian TV series, will captivate us with its vibrant colors and unpretentious charm.

After lunch with a view of the sea, we can choose to relax on the beach or lace up our sneakers and explore the hills above.

Boccadasse

On our return to Genoa, we’ll visit the colorful village of Boccadasse at sunset, in search of Genoa’s most famous cat. We’ll enjoy a stroll along Corso Italia, where the locals go for walks or to play various sports. And who knows, we might even run into a soccer player or two...

Let's have dinner!

It’s finally time for dinner, and you’ll get to sample Genoese specialties at a traditional local restaurant!

Have you ever tried panissa or farinata? Both are made with chickpea flour, a simple and nutritious ingredient. And they go perfectly with pesto!

Walking Tour

We’ll start with a walk that begins at Piazza de Ferrari, continues along Via Garibaldi, famous for its Palazzi dei Rolli (a UNESCO World Heritage Site), and takes us to Spianata Castelletto, where we’ll enjoy a beautiful view of the city.

At the end, we’ll head down into the caruggi Genoa’s typical narrow alleys, to see its historic shops and begin the next activity.

Workshop

The city center of Genova is undergoing a major redevelopment project, and many artisans are playing a key role in it.

Today, we’ll meet one of them and take part in a restoration workshop in a square at the heart of the narrow streets and you will create your own souvenir.
