The trip in a nutshell
This is a trip designed and created entirely by an experienced WeRoad Travel Coordinator. They organise the whole trip: from defining the itinerary to selecting accommodation and on-site experiences. On the WeRoad website you can book the trip and manage it in MyWeRoad, just like any other WeRoad.
Germany at Christmas is pure magic – twinkling fairy lights, steaming mugs of mulled wine, and medieval squares transformed into festive wonderlands. On this 7-day road-trip adventure, we’ll explore the most famous Christmas markets in Frankfurt, Cologne, Nuremberg, and Munich, while also stopping at hidden gems like Sankt Goar, Koblenz, and Rothenburg ob der Tauber. We’ll wander cobblestone streets, taste traditional gingerbread, and warm up with a welcome drink under the glow of Christmas trees. Highlights include a reflective visit to the Dachau Memorial, a fairy-tale excursion to Neuschwanstein Castle, and plenty of free time to get lost in stalls overflowing with handmade ornaments, sweets, and local crafts.
With car rentals included, we set the pace—chasing riverside castles, pausing for scenic photos, and arriving at markets when the lights are at their most magical. The itinerary balances meaningful cultural stops, hands-on festive experiences (like a gingerbread-making class in Nuremberg), and relaxed market time so you can savour Bavarian food, regional wines, and cosy nights with your new group. This trip is perfect for young, curious travellers who want a social, slightly adventurous winter escape that mixes history, holiday ritual, and unforgettable photo moments.
