Itinerary
Ready for the dream trip to Indonesia? From Jakarta we cross Java, visiting Hindu and Buddhist temples and trekking on Mount Bromo, Indonesia's most famous active volcano.
Then the Island of the Gods: in Bali we get to know the Balinese, some of the most welcoming and kindest people in the world. We visit the Ubud Monkey Forest, surf in the best spots, then head south to the beaches of Kuta and the spectacular T-Rex cliff. The Gili Islands are the cherry on top: a real heaven on earth, where we swim with sea turtles. Ready to discover Indonesia? See you in Jakarta!

Welcome to Indonesia!
1 night: Jakarta
Check-in: our adventure begins in Jakarta
Roundtrip flights or transportation to reach the destination are not included in the package, so you can decide from where and when you want to leave! This gives you complete freedom of choice to adjust your travel itinerary to your needs.
Hotel check-in in Jakarta, then time to start this trip right: time for food!
We try out some specialties of the local cuisine.
The best way to get to know each other and get ready for an amazing adventure.

Java: Yogyakarta and the Borobudur temple
1 night: Yogyakarta
Discover Yogyakarta
This morning our first transfer awaits!
An internal flight takes us to the central part of the island of Java.
First stop: Yogyakarta. Once at the accommodation, we're ready to kick off our adventure among the Indonesian islands.
Prambanan and Borobudur
Two temples, two faiths, one unforgettable day: it takes a while to explore, but it's worth it!
Prambanan is a Hindu temple complex that stretches for miles, up to the Shiva temple, the greatest Hindu monument in Indonesia.
The Brahma temple and Vishnu temple follow: they're a must too.
Not far from Prambanan stands the magnificent Borobudur, the world's largest Buddhist temple. Built in the 9th century, it's one of Indonesia's and the world's most valuable treasures.
In the 1970's Borobudur became a UNESCO World Heritage site.

On the road in East Java
1 night: Mount Bromo
Minivan ride to Mount Bromo
Rise and shine dear WeRoaders: we have some traveling to do!
We get in our minivan to reach Mount Bromo: tomorrow we'll see one of the most wonderful sunrises ever, we promise.
Lunch break along the way to grab a quick bite and stretch our legs.
Dinner at our accommodation near Mount Bromo and early to bed: the alarm is set for 2 in the morning. Yes, you read that right… but hey, it'll be worth it!

Enjoy a breathtaking sunrise on Mount Bromo
1 night: Banyuwangi
Sunrise on the volcano, then Banyuwangi
Get up, sleepyheads! The alarm goes off at 2am, so let's put on some warm clothes: it's quite cold.
A jeep takes us almost to the top of the mountain in less than 30 minutes.
Then more or less half an hour of easy walking, and guess what? The sun is rising!
We watch Mount Bromo slowly light up: a jaw-dropping view and a magic moment in contact with nature.
Back to base camp, then on to our next stop, Banyuwangi. Plenty of time to rest during the transfer: another early alarm awaits!

From Java to Bali: discovering a new island
1 night: Ubud
Kawah Ijen: acid lake and blue flames
Another early wake-up call to climb the Ijen volcano, famous for two unique peculiarities.
Here is the largest acid lake in the world, and the blue will-o'-the-wisps!
Getting to the top is not difficult, but the second part of the route is much more demanding: we can venture down into the crater to reach the acid lake.
Down there we admire the surreal wisps of blue flame and the sulphurous fumes rising from the depths. We wear masks, as lake gases make the path hard to see; if it feels too difficult, the descent is optional.
Brave enough to reach the heart of the volcano? The reward: the dawn here has a completely different colour!
Arriving in Bali
Back at the starting point, we grab our backpacks and set off to Bali. What are we waiting for?
First a minivan, then a ferry towards the most famous Indonesian island!
After regaining some strength, we choose: the famous Ulun Danu Beratan temple, or a swim in the Git Git waterfalls?
In the evening we arrive in Ubud, where we can begin to relax… maybe with a nice massage!

Ubud: Monkey Forest
1 night: Ubud
Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary
This morning we visit a rainforest oasis on the edge of Ubud.
The Sacred Monkey Forest Sanctuary is a wonderful and bizarre temple, full of statues of animals and mythological creatures.
Relaxing afternoon
We spend the rest of the day relaxing, our way.
Ubud is one of the world capitals for yoga and spirituality: what better place to take a class?
Or how about a cooking class?
We can also take a walk among the rice fields: the surroundings of the city are full of forests, temples, and waterfalls.

From Ubud to Seminyak: a relaxing day!
1 night: Seminyak
Bali Beach Club
Today's all about chilling and exploring!
Our own beach club perks include drinks, snacks, and towels: no stress! Balinese beaches rock for their nightlife.
But we call the shots today: fancy yoga, temple hopping, or finding that Insta-worthy spot?
Later, we roll into Seminyak by private van, ready to kick off this trip with a bang.

Kuta, between beach life and nightlife
1 night: Seminyak
Surf and sunset
Welcome to Kuta, a little surfer's paradise!
Let's put our swimsuit on and surf the waves: it won't be too difficult, even on our very first try.
Not feeling like surfing? We can spend the day relaxing on the beach until sunset.
At sunset, a nice cocktail overlooking the sea on comfy beanbags.
Let's get started with a few Balinese cocktails (we suggest the typical Arak) and then let's cut some shapes!

Sea, relax and trekking: time to visit the Gili Islands
1 night: Gili Trawangan
Paradise on earth
After three days in Bali, some transfers take us to the archipelago of the Gili Islands. If you wonder what a paradise on earth looks like, here we are!
No picture can catch the beauty of the infinite white beaches and bright blue waters.
We decide what to do: sun and relax on the beach all day, snorkeling or scuba diving, or a trek in the jungle?
We stay at the beach till late to see a different side of the Gili Islands: the chiringuitos invite us to enjoy some cocktails and dance barefoot on the sand all night long. Cheers!

Gili Islands: time to discover the coral reefs of Trawangan
1 night: Gili Trawangan
Relax and fun
Time to enjoy the beautiful Gilis: three small islands that attract travellers from all over the world for their immense beauty.
Let's explore the paradisiac tropical coral reefs in Gili Trawangan.
Looking for something even more unique? On Gili Meno we can swim among the beautiful underwater sculptures and take the most epic travel photos.
Then why not spend the rest of the day on the beach, relaxing in this peaceful place?

A day in Lombok: time to enjoy Senggigi beach one last time
1 night: Lombok
Last day on the beach
That's the last day on the beach between Gili and Lombok, so let's make the best of it!
In the morning there's still time for one last swim in the crystal clear waters of the Gilis.
In the afternoon we move to Lombok and enjoy a beach just off the tourist trails, in silence and relaxation: the very essence of this new island.
We stay at the beach until late for our last sunset on Senggigi beach!

Back to Jakarta
1 night: Jakarta
The capital
Today we fly back to Jakarta, trying not to think too much about the wonderful ocean we left behind.
A relaxing afternoon in the hotel, or time to visit the city highlights and buy some souvenirs to take home.
Here we are, at the end of our trip: tonight we share our favourite memories of the last 12 days!
