Welcome to Bologna
1 night: Bologna
Let's explore and enjoy the local cuisine!
Today we’ll gather in Bologna, ready to step into the city’s lively rhythm. Surrounded by remarkable architecture, we’ll take in the grandeur of the Basilica di San Petronio and the elegant façades that define Bologna’s timeless character. A short walk brings us to the iconic Two Towers of Bologna, where those who wish can climb the Asinelli Tower for sweeping views over the city’s terracotta rooftops.
Continuing under the city’s famous porticoes, we’ll explore the charming Quadrilatero district, a maze of narrow streets filled with traditional food shops and local specialties—perfect for experiencing Bologna’s culinary soul. Around midday, we’ll pause for lunch, enjoying classic dishes such as fresh pasta or regional cured meats.
And here’s a fun twist—what many people call “Bolognese” sauce around the world actually originates right here as ragù alla bolognese, traditionally served not with spaghetti, but with fresh tagliatelle.

Let's head to Parma!
1 night: Bologna
Parma Day visit
The morning begins wandering the historic center, where the marble glow of Parma Cathedral and its soaring frescoed dome set a dramatic tone. Just steps away, the Baptistery of Parma rises in pink Verona marble—an almost surreal geometric landmark that feels more sculptural than architectural.
But Parma doesn’t stay in the realm of art for long. Midday shifts into something far more sensual: a tasting experience dedicated either to silky, melt-in-the-mouth Prosciutto di Parma or the nutty, crystalline complexity of Parmigiano Reggiano. Here, tradition isn’t explained—it’s sliced, shaved, and sampled straight from the source.
By evening, you return to Bologna carrying the lingering taste of Parma with you—simple ingredients, perfected over centuries, leaving a city that feels both elegant and deeply edible.

Bologna Cuisine, Hidden Corners & Panoramic Views
With the city’s main sights behind us, today reveals a more atmospheric side of Bologna. We begin at the peaceful Santo Stefano Complex, a fascinating cluster of interconnected churches often called “Seven Churches,” offering a quiet contrast to the first day's bustle.
From here, we can wander through lesser-known streets, browsing independent boutiques or stopping for coffee in tucked-away piazzas. For those feeling active, the afternoon offers a memorable climb (or bus ride) up to Sanctuary of the Madonna di San Luca. The route follows the world’s longest portico, and at the top, you’re rewarded with sweeping views over the countryside.
As evening sets in, we embrace one of Bologna’s best traditions: aperitivo. And with that, we say our cheers and goodbyes!
