Itinerary

Five days in Naples and on the Amalfi Coast, through the historical wonders of Campania. We start with pizza and nightlife in Naples, then the archaeological site of Pompeii and an afternoon in Sorrento.

Next comes the 8 km Path of the Gods from Agerola to Positano, followed by a ferry day trip to Capri. Four nights in Naples, between history, sea, hiking and food: who's hungry?

Check-in: our adventure starts in Naples

We land in Naples, where five days in Southern Italy begin, and drop our bags at the accommodation before the evening starts.

  • First Neapolitan dinner: a feast of Neapolitan cuisine, buffalo mozzarella included, and a first taste of the city we sleep in for the next four nights.

  • Out into the Naples night: the night does not stop there: Naples' nightlife pulls us into its clubs and entertainment venues, which is how the group gets to know itself.

A large underground catacomb with rough-hewn stone pillars and arches, illuminated by blue and yellow lights.

A day among the ruins of Pompeii

Early start, hearty breakfast and more Neapolitan pastries to fuel up: today is archaeology day!

  • By train to Pompeii: we hop on a train to Pompeii and explore the extensive archaeological site with no rush, since there are plenty of hours to spend inside.

  • Our must-see list: the Forum, the House of the Faun, the Villa of the Mysteries, the Teatro Grande, the Teatro Piccolo and the Garden of the Fugitives.

Sorrento

Then the train takes us along the coast to Sorrento, a scenic ride and a slower afternoon.

  • Evening in Naples: we return to Naples for another evening in the city.

A colorful village built on a steep cliffside is illuminated at dusk, overlooking a calm bay filled with many boats.

Hiking from Agerola

After history and food, the trip turns to nature: early start, breakfast, and we make our way to Agerola in comfortable shoes.

  • On the Path of the Gods: from Agerola we set out on the Path of the Gods, an 8 km walk starting at 600 metres above sea level, roughly four hours through Mediterranean foliage and quaint villages.

  • Views of the Amalfi Coast: the deep blue sea of the Amalfi Coast stays with us the whole way, stopping us often for photographs.

  • Lunch at Nocelle: for the scenery and the local specialties.

Arriving in Positano

We finish the hike with Positano's colourful cliffside houses ahead of us.

  • Swim and aperitif: a swim if the weather allows, then a seaside aperitif.

  • Back to Naples: we head back to Naples for the evening, maybe for sausage and broccoli.

An aerial view of a green, rocky coastline with white buildings, overlooking a blue sea with many boats and two large rock stacks at sunset.

La dolce vita on the island

If yesterday left no time to sail to Capri from Positano, today is the day: one island, then one food tour!

  • By ferry to Capri: after a scenic journey down the coast we board a ferry across the sparkling Tyrrhenian Sea to Capri, one of the most iconic islands in Italy.

  • Capri, Anacapri and Monte Solaro: we stroll the elegant streets of Capri town, the hidden alleys of Anacapri and the views from Monte Solaro, with the Blue Grotto if the weather permits, or a spritz.

  • Food tour in Naples: we ferry back in the late afternoon, and in Naples a local expert leads our food tour: sfogliatella at a historic pastry shop, a cuoppo at Pignasecca market, then fried pizza for the farewell dinner.

An aerial view of a sprawling coastal city and its busy port at the foot of a large volcano under a warm-toned sunset sky.

Check-out and goodbyes

The last morning is a short one: bags packed, the group splits up at the accommodation, and Naples carries on without us.

  • Check-out: it happens at the accommodation, and from that point the trip's services end: whatever is left of the day belongs to each of us.

  • Goodbyes: airport transfers are up to each of us to arrange. See you on the next WeRoad adventure!

Had an amazing 4 days in Napoli, visiting Pompei, Sorento, Capri and hiking on the Amalfi coast. Our weroad representative Sema was amazing, she was focused on keeping the trip running smoothly and making sure everyone was having fun. She chose great places to eat and helped organise a few extra activities. Like a boat trip in Capri which was a lot of fun. Would recommend her and weroad for my next trip

A great 5 days with so much crammed in: eating great food in Naples, seeing historic sights in Pompeii, adventure hiking the path of the gods in Positano, relaxing on the beach in Sorrento and a boat trip in Capri. Made some great friends, made delicious pizza and made fantastic memories!

Travelling solo with a group of people I had never met is as far outside my comfort zone as I had ever been, but the group was full of friendly and like minded people so we were able to get along great. The activities were exactly what I wanted in a trip to Naples plus more such as the pizza making class. Our group leader felt like a part of the group and was able to keep spirits high even when we were faced with terrible weather.

First time weroader and struggled with confidence to do stuff on my own. Really pushed myself to do this and can honestly say it was an amazing experience and the best thing I’ve ever done for myself. My group was 6 men and 1 woman (and woman coordinator). We all got on well straight away and travel experience varied by each of us. Even during free time we usually opted to stick together. Everyone was friendly and we had a great time overall. Some of us have even swapped IGs and talks already about meeting up for more trios in the future! My coordinator Katya was the absolute best. Having only been her 2nd trip as coordinator she was really engaged with the group, intent on getting everyone involved and was just an absolute vibe; super fun, energetic and great company too. Already booked into my next weroad in 2 months time, can’t wait and hopefully will be as good as my first!
