Itinerary
An East Coast road trip through the rich history, natural wonders and vibrant culture of the Northeastern United States. We meet on the outskirts of NYC and head straight north to Niagara Falls, feeling their sheer power on a boat trip and exploring the surrounding parks.
Then south to the nation's capital, Washington D.C.: the National Mall with the Lincoln Memorial and the Washington Monument, plus the grandeur of the U.S. Capitol Building. Next comes Philadelphia, the birthplace of American independence, before we reach Manhattan, the heart of the Big Apple, New York City. Times Square, Central Park and the Empire State Building wrap things up, with one last New York night to remember it all: skyscrapers, thundering waters, political monuments and historic sites. The very best of the Northeast!

Hello, East Coast!
Check-in: our adventure kicks off in the Big Apple!
Flights to and from the destination aren't included in the package, so you can decide which airport to fly from, at what time, and with the airline you prefer. This is to give you maximum freedom of choice.
We'll check-in at the New York hotel, near the airport for the Welcome Meeting.
First night as a group in New York!
First dinner together: burger or hot dog?!
Tomorrow we're off to Canada! New York will be waiting for our return.

On the road to Niagara Falls
Picking up our rides
Today our road trip begins! It's a long journey, and the route is ours to shape.
Picking up our rides: after breakfast we head to the car rental pick-up point to get our hands on our cars.
From skyscrapers to waterfalls: the landscapes change along the way, from the skyscrapers of New York through the natural beauty of the Hudson Valley to the grandeur of Niagara Falls.
Stops of our choice: how many stops, and where? That's up to us, because a true road trip is all about freedom!

Niagara Falls: facing the power of nature
A spectacle of nature
We made it! Today we stand before one of the world's most iconic natural wonders: the Niagara Falls complex, on the border between the United States and Canada, made up of three distinct waterfalls.
Facing Horseshoe Falls: the largest and most famous, named after its distinctive horseshoe shape. It spans about 792 meters and plunges 57 meters into the Niagara River below.
American and Bridal Veil Falls: the American Falls are approximately 323 meters wide, with a drop of about 54 meters; right next to them, Bridal Veil Falls is the smallest of the three.
By boat to the falls: for a closer look we take a boat trip. Ready to get soaked?!

Gettysburg: an American history lesson
On the road again!
Saying goodbye to Niagara Falls is tough, but the show must go on: today we head south again, to Gettysburg. Does the name ring a bell? Maybe a bit of history can help: this historic town in Adams County, Pennsylvania, is most famous for its pivotal role in the American Civil War, with the Battle of Gettysburg fought here from July 1st to 3rd, 1863.
Exploring the centre: after a few hours on the road there will surely be time to visit the picturesque centre, full of historic buildings, shops, restaurants and inns.
Dinner at a diner? How about an authentic American diner? It's the best place to soak up the true American spirit and feel like a real local!

The capital of the United States: Washington D.C.
A day 100% culture
Just a couple of hours' drive and we reach the USA's beating heart: Washington D.C., where history whispers through marble columns and echoes in the halls of power. Like in House of Cards, right? Today is a 100% culture day.
First, the Library of Congress: the Library of Congress is the largest library in the world, an architectural masterpiece and, as if that weren't enough, entry is totally free!
Along the National Mall: we stroll among monuments and memorials bearing witness to sacrifices made and battles fought.
To the Capitol: the U.S. Capitol Building is the emblem of governance and the people's voice, where ideas are debated, laws are made and change is born.

The other side of Washington D.C.
Arlington and Georgetown
Arlington is just over the river from Washington: we cross the Potomac River and Arlington's skyline welcomes us with a mix of modernity and historical significance. Beyond monuments like the national cemetery, it's a series of unique neighbourhoods, each with its own character, and we'll have plenty of time to explore them.
Around Arlington's neighbourhoods: Rosslyn, closer to Washington, is a hub of business and modern skyscrapers with spectacular views of the capital; Clarendon, Ballston and Courthouse are known for their vibrant urban scenes, with plenty of options for eating, shopping and entertainment.
Back to Georgetown: in Washington we visit Georgetown, a historic and picturesque neighbourhood with charming streets, waterfront views and a lively cultural scene.
Up for a dark twist? If you fancy it, in the evening we can head to the "Exorcist Steps", made famous by the iconic horror film, but free of demons!

From Washington to New York with a stop in Philadelphia
Stopover in Philly
We're almost at the end of the trip, but one city is still on the list: today it's Philly! Philadelphia is one of the oldest and most culturally significant cities in the country, a mix of tradition and modernity: here the Continental Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence in 1776 and later the US Constitution in 1787.
Through the historic neighbourhoods: each with a distinct personality, from the Old City, with cobblestone streets, art galleries and the famous Betsy Ross House, to Society Hill, with picturesque 18th-century row houses, and Fishtown and Northern Liberties, trendy hubs for art, dining and nightlife.
Running up the Rocky Steps: the Philadelphia Museum of Art, with a collection spanning centuries and cultures, is home of the famous "Rocky Steps". We run up them with a soundtrack: you can't come here and not feel like Rocky for a few minutes!
A taste of Philly: the city is known for its foodie culture, so go easy on breakfast: from traditional cheesesteaks to soft pretzels and fine dining experiences.
Last stretch to New York: with full bellies, we're back on the road to where it all began: New York City!

From Times Square to Brooklyn: a walking tour of the city
Times Square and the Empire State Building
We start at Times Square, the beating heart of the Big Apple!
Coffee and donuts at Krispy Kreme: a must-do. Like true Americans, we grab coffee to go and a donut and eat them on the steps of the world's most famous square.
On to Grand Central Station: after the obligatory photos, we head to Grand Central Station, seen in so many movies and TV series: it's the largest train station in the world. In the main hall there's an acoustic gallery: if we whisper in one corner, someone in the opposite corner hears it loud and clear.
Up the Empire State Building: then it's up to the top of the Empire State Building, possibly the most iconic skyscraper in the city, for an incredible view.
Brooklyn Bridge and Dumbo
This afternoon we cross the Brooklyn Bridge, one of the world's most famous suspension bridges and the longest when it was built, in 1883.
Views of Manhattan: a stroll here lets us admire the Manhattan Bridge and the Manhattan skyline from a totally different angle.
Wandering through Dumbo: the creative heart of New York drew tons of artists in the '80s and is now full of galleries and charming spots where we can stop for a sunset drink.
Sunset from the Top of the Rock? To wrap up the day, we can head up to the Top of the Rock for the sunset and a breathtaking 360° view of all of New York.
Farewell dinner: we celebrate the end of our tour with a great dinner all together. Burgers again tonight, right?
Bye Bye America!
