Itinerary

Utah is pure cinematic energy: endless deserts, towering red rock formations and landscapes that feel straight out of a movie. This journey is designed to capture the essence of the American Southwest in a short but powerful itinerary, starting from Salt Lake City and diving deep into some of the most iconic locations in the state. We’ll explore the surreal rock formations of Arches National Park, witness unforgettable sunrises in Monument Valley and drive through some of the most scenic desert roads in the country. But this isn’t just about landscapes—it’s about experience. From rafting along the Colorado River to off-the-beaten-path stops like Goblin Valley State Park, every day brings something different. It’s a fast-paced, high-impact road trip for travelers who want to feel the wild, raw beauty of Utah without overcomplicating the route. Expect long drives, big views, and moments you won’t forget. Are you ready for the adventure?

Salt Lake City

Our adventure begins in Salt Lake City. This is a day to know each other, explore the city and get ready for the days ahead. We can take a walk in the Downtown, discovering the oldest buildings and the Capitol, taste a relaxed dinner and toast to our trip!

An expansive view of a deep red rock canyon with a river snaking through the canyon floor under a clear sky.

Canyonlands & Dead Horse Point

We leave the city behind and head toward Moab, gateway to Utah’s desert landscapes. Our first big stop is Canyonlands National Park (Island in the Sky district), where dramatic viewpoints like Mesa Arch and Grand View Point open up to vast canyon systems carved by the Colorado River. For sunset, we move to Dead Horse Point State Park, one of the most scenic overlooks in the Southwest!

A large, natural sandstone arch glows in the warm light of sunrise over a rocky desert landscape with mountains in the distance.

Arches and adrenaline!

Morning dedicated to Arches National Park, home to some of the most famous rock formations in the U.S. We’ll explore highlights like Delicate Arch, the Windows Section, and Landscape Arch.

In the afternoon, we switch pace completely with an adventure on the Colorado River: rafting through red rock canyons, a fun and refreshing way to experience the landscape from a different perspective. A perfect mix of iconic sights and active experience!

A wide shot of a red sand desert valley with large sandstone buttes and mesas rising in the distance under a blue sky.

Desert Icons

We hit the road early and head south, passing through classic desert scenery and stopping around Mexican Hat for a true off-the-beaten-path vibe.

By the afternoon we reach Monument Valley, one of the most recognizable landscapes in the world. Sunset here is unreal, and the atmosphere is something you don’t forget. We will spend the night in the area for a fully immersive desert experience, under a sky full of stars!

Three large, reddish-brown hoodoo rock formations stand in a desert landscape under a partly cloudy sky.

Sunrise in the Monument Valley and the drive to SLC

Early wake-up for sunrise in Monument Valley: a must-see moment of the trip that we will never forget. After exploring the Valley Drive, we begin the journey back north.

The route itself is part of the experience: we drive alongside the waters of Glen Canyon, with desert views that stretch endlessly, before stopping at the surreal Goblin Valley State Park, where strange rock formations create an almost otherworldly landscape. Arrival toward Salt Lake City in the evening, ready to celebrate the end of our trip!

A city skyline with skyscrapers and a capitol building viewed from rolling hills with colorful autumn trees at sunset.

Goodbye Utah!

These are our last moments in before departure. Depending on your flight time, there’s room for a relaxed breakfast, a final walk through downtown, or simply taking in the slower pace after days on the road. Then it’s time to return the car and head to the airport, leaving with the soul and the camera full of red rock landscapes, a real taste of the American Southwest and a lot of new friends!
