Itinerary
Picture the morning sun reflecting off of the baroque facade of St. Stephen's Cathedral, with the aroma of coffee and Sacher Torte in the air. And just like that, your weekend in Vienna kicks off! The beating heart of Central Europe, Vienna is a city brimming with history, culture, and imperial charm – one of the most beautiful cities in the world. We'll explore it on foot and by using public transport, diving deep into its thousand-year old history that's left its mark all over the urban landscape. The historic centre is an open-air museum, packed with imperial palaces, baroque churches, and monuments of immense historical value.
Strolling along the Ringstrasse, we'll marvel at imperial palaces, museums, and landmarks like the Rathaus (City Hall), the Parliament, the Burgtheater, and the Spanish Riding School. We'll wander in the shadow of the Hofburg Palace and its gardens, gaze at giant butterflies, and explore its royal chambers. Of course, there's time for delicious breaks in Vienna's historic coffee houses, where we'll indulge in a famous Sacher Torte (Austrian typical chocolate sponge cake). There'll also be time for modern architecture, and we'll get up close and personal with the Hundertwasserhaus, with its vibrant colours and curvy shapes. We'll also pay a visit to the Prater, a green park right in the centre of Vienna, where we'll hop on the Wiener Riesenrad, the iconic, giant Ferris wheel, before heading to dinner that's pure Viennese style, complete with goulash, Wiener schnitzel, and beer.
