Which part of Ibiza should you choose?

Boats dock in the harbor, right in front of a coastal town perched on the hill, with its colorful houses and an ancient stone fortress standing guard.

Ibiza Town and Dalt Vila

The capital is the perfect starting point for a trip that blends history and nightlife. Dalt Vila, the upper town with its Renaissance walls, is a UNESCO World Heritage site, and in the evening, the port comes alive with bars and restaurants. This is also where you’ll catch the ferries to Formentera.

You’ll be swimming in crystal-clear turquoise waters, surrounded by rocky coastlines and tiny islets, all under a perfectly blue sky.

Sant Antoni and the west coast

This is the land of sunsets: Sant Antoni bay with its beachfront bars, and the crystal-clear coves of Cala Comte and Cala Bassa. Cala Comte is the go-to spot to watch the sun dip into the sea right in front of the islets. Perfect for a beach trip filled with fun evenings.

The North, between Portinatx, Benirràs, and Sant Joan

Ibiza is wilder and less crowded here: pine forests reaching right down to the sea, secluded coves, and villages where time just slows down. At Benirràs, on Sunday at sunset, you'll find people drumming on the beach—a tradition that's been around since the original hippie days.

The sun sets over the sea behind a rocky islet, viewed from a high cliff nestled between the vegetation and a stone tower.

The South, between Es Vedrà and Ses Salines

The south is where nature meets the sea: the salt flats of the Ses Salines Natural Park with the beaches of Es Cavallet and Las Salinas, the cliffs of Cala d'Hort, and the view of Es Vedrà, the rock that frames the bay. It’s the perfect choice for a trip filled with landscapes and sunsets.

When to hit up Ibiza

Ibiza is one of Spain's many gems, and it's best enjoyed from May to October. In June and September, the sea is already warm, the clubs are open, and the island is less crowded.

July and August are all about the heat (around 86°F / 30°C) and the party vibes.

In spring and October, it's perfect for hiking and finding quiet coves, though expect some clubs to be closed.

Between November and March, the island slows right down and beach life takes a backseat.

What to see in Ibiza

In Ibiza, the coast transforms in just a few kilometers: the historic center of Dalt Vila with its ancient walls, the salt flats of Ses Salines, the northern coves with their light sand, and the Es Vedrà cliffs that shift colors at sunset.

And then there are the hippy markets like Las Dalias in Sant Carles, the coastal watchtowers, and the white villages tucked away inland, like Santa Gertrudis.
