Group trips to Northern Europe

Norway and Iceland, while not EU members, are part of Schengen and accept ID cards too. From late 2026, the ETIAS authorization will also be required for visa-exempt non-EU travelers.

Budget is generally high in Scandinavia and Iceland, at $140-220 per person per day, while the Baltic states are much more affordable, at $55-90 per day.

Efficient trains and ferries connect the main Scandinavian and Baltic cities, while renting a car is the most practical choice to explore the Norwegian fjords or drive Iceland's Ring Road; domestic flights are useful for long distances in Norway and Sweden.

Winters are long, cold, and dark, with the midnight sun in summer and polar night in winter in Arctic areas; summers are short but pleasant, with temperatures generally between 15 and 22 degrees Celsius.
